Building the Church According to Biblical Standards: Following the Pattern of the New Testament Church

Our highest priority is to build the church according to biblical standards and the pattern established by the New Testament Church. The church does not belong to man; it belongs to Jesus Christ, who said, "I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it" (Matthew 16:18).

The New Testament Church was founded on the teachings of Christ and the apostles. It was a church devoted to God's Word, prayer, fellowship, worship, and evangelism. Acts 2:42 tells us that the believers "continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers."

As a church, our goal is not merely to increase in numbers but to make genuine disciples of Jesus Christ. We desire to raise believers who know God, obey His Word, live holy lives, and serve faithfully in His kingdom. The early church demonstrated love, unity, generosity, and commitment to God's mission. They supported one another, shared their burdens, and reached their communities with the Gospel.

We are committed to:

- Preaching and teaching the whole counsel of God's Word.
- Maintaining a strong prayer life and dependence on the Holy Spirit.
- Making disciples who grow in spiritual maturity.
- Living in holiness and obedience to Christ.
- Demonstrating love, unity, and fellowship among believers.
- Evangelizing and fulfilling the Great Commission.
- Using spiritual gifts for the edification of the body of Christ.

Just as the New Testament Church turned the world upside down through the power of God, we desire to be a church that reflects Christ, impacts our community, and brings glory to God in all things.

Scriptures: Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:42-47; Acts 4:32-35; Ephesians 4:11-16; 2 Timothy 3:16-17.

JOIN THE REVOLUTION TODAY!!!

Africa is a Continent known for her Coup d’Etats and Revolutions! From the Arab Spring in Tunisia to the Contemporary Sahel Pan African revolutions against neocolonialism in Niger, Mali and Bukina Faso, From the ordinary point of view the Word Revolution sends chills down one’s spine and provokes fear in people’s heart. However it would be good to understand the fact that the world has evolved and powered by different revolutions. From Cultural to Agricultural, Industrial to Religious or Reformation. So clearly we see that revolutions are not just the characteristics of the 21st, neither are they unique characteristics of the African continent. Revolutions have taken place in Europe, Asia, American and South America! However the One Billion question we now need to answer is why do revolutions occur in the first place?

Revolutions, whether industrial, cultural, political, technological, or military, usually occur when existing systems can no longer adequately respond to new realities, needs, pressures, or aspirations. They represent periods of rapid and significant change that alter how societies function. Here are a number of Factors that often contribute to revolutions:
1. Dissatisfaction with the Status Quo
2.New Ideas and Ideologies - Revolutions are usually preceded by shifts in thinking. Ideas provide both critique of the old order and vision for a new one
3. Economic Pressures - Economic hardship or opportunity can accelerate revolutions. Factors that Favour economic revolutions include:Widespread poverty or unemployment, Unequal distribution of wealth, Competition for resources, The emergence of new economic systems and markets. When economic arrangements cease to benefit large segments of society, demands for transformation increase. It must be noted however that when the expectations from the leadership are slow or intentionally obstructed, the Revolutions become violent and there is

Today we shall discuss another kind of Revolution totally different from those mentioned above. While the other revolutions start as a result of unmet expectations from leaders, the Jesus, Spiritual revolution leads individuals to see themselves as having missed the mark or target set for their lives by God. While the other revolutions are human initiated, the Spiritual revolution is God provoked. Listen to what Jesus said:
“I have come to set the world on fire, and I wish it were already burning!
I have a terrible baptism of suffering ahead of me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is accomplished..” ( Luke 12:49, 50 )

The Lord Jesus Came to Start a Global Revolution. A Revolution that would take Mankind back to God’s Original Plan and Purpose. The Question I now direct to You is Would You Join this Jesus Revolution? That Revolution was and still remains a Spiritual and Moral One. It is not a Revolution that Kills or Destroys but rather one that Rescues from the tyranny of Sin, Delivers from the Oppression of the Devil and Transforms sin bartered lives into New Creatures / Lives. This statements are not hypocritical but practical life experiences. There are examples of individuals who came in contact with Him and have never remained the same. These People were both Men , Women , and Youths too. Consider the Man Paul, the Blasphemer, Persecutor and Murderer who was so radically transformed that he became an agent and n Instrument of transformation.
Consider also the Woman, Mary Magdalene. Despite her notorious and nefarious background, became transformed and engaged in helping others experience transformation also. The Question we now must consider is How did this Transformation take place? And how did they get involved in leading others into the God life Jesus came to restore to mankind. ( John 10:10)?

Here below are three simple steps to becoming part of the Revolution Jesus declare He came to start.
A. THE EXPECTATION - While we human beings expect many things from God, we expect Him to do things, answer prayers etc. However God also has an Expectation from us. At last we have fallen short of that expectation. Thank God however for Jesus. He came to our Rescue and Recruited us to Join His Rescue and Transformation Team. He invites us to Join the Revolution that sheds no blood and destroys no property. The only thing that this Revolution destroys is a Sinful past and buries it forever.
B. THE ENCOUNTER & EMPOWERMENT - There is no way that we can understand God’s Expectation without crying and Reaching out for His Help. It must be noted that God never gives an Assignment without Giving the necessary back up Resources to Equip and Empower for the Mission. The Lord Jesus did only teach about the Kingdom He came to introduce, he lived showing an example of the God Kind of life we were called to live. The fact that this New life we are invited to partake of and this Mission we are commissioned to carry out required more than ordinary talents, it required divine power. In Luke4:16-18 He declared the Spirit is upon me because He has anointed me to proclaim the goodness of the Kingdom to the Poor….He lived by the help of the Holy Spirit. His declaration in Acts 1:8 is a clear indication that the Mission of those who decide to Join the Revolution is colossal and requires power, the Power of the Holy Spirit to fulfill the task.
C THE ENGAGEMENT - The last aspect of the Revolutionary process is the fact that those who meet Jesus become filled with the same burden and passion of world Conquest and transformation. Paul describes it in 2 Corinthians 5:17-20 and the Lord Himself emphasis the fact of the continued revolution in John 20:21
To serve as an Ambassador and a Royal Messenger according to our scripture texts requires us take a look once again at his invitation in Matthew 4:19 - “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” This is one of the most powerful verses that concerns the Revolution Jesus came to start. In verse17 of the same chapter of Matthew we read in Matthew 4:17 From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” The two verses outline clearly the pathway to becoming a revolutionist and part of the Jesus revolution.

Dear Reader Friend, did you know that Repentance remains the key step to becoming what God wants us to be and serving as a channel of Moral and Spiritual transformation in Society and to others? To be engaged in the Revolution the World so badly needs requires that we first turn away from the life that did not work, the life that had missed the mark, (Romans 3:23) only then are we ready to follow the Master radically in His Mission of World Conquest and transformation. It is at this point that the Miracle of life transformation begins. Simply you realize your sinful condition ( agreeing with God’s verdict - All have sinned and come short of God’s glory), then you turn from it and begin following Jesus, only then that He begins a work of transformation of your life and later commissions you as a Fisher of men. One who looks out for broken people and connects them to Christ who Changes them and engages them to do the same. This is the beginning of the Revolution. Yes, the Revolution that sheds no blood, hurt nobody, destroys no property begins quietly in the secret of me and women’s hearts but soon becomes visible in our attitudes that begin to affect families, local communities and Nations. This is the Revolution that fires no shot, throws no bombs, sends out no kamikaze drones but visibly overthrows evil, dismantles fortress of wickedness, spreads love and good until prejudices no longer exist, skin Color no longer maters, society begins to become a global family of Friends and followers of Jesus. This is not Religion, it is a Revolution! In this process, Members demand no salary, claim no rights, do not lord over others but simply serve one another as family. You can Join the Revolution today

HOPE: A NECESSARY INGREDIENT IN LIFE

Do you still remember those days when we used to write letters, affix a postal stamp on the envelope and then drop them in the mail box at the post office? Sometimes it took ages before a reply came. For my Country, Cameroon a normal Mail could take as long as two week to get to the neighbouring town. However long it took one of my greatest joys was when a letter came in the mail for me. Some of my most cherished letters were those my wife and I exchanged while in our courtship. I could read one letter over and over again before the next one arrived.

Most Epistles in the New Testament were letters written to answer questions and deal with specific problems that were plaguing the local churches to which they were addressed. Paul, the Apostle wrote almost two thirds of these epistles. Our text of meditation today ( Philippians 4:6 - 7) was written by this great Apostle and guess what? it was penned right from prison. This wonderful man of God had so tirelessly labored for the kingdom but ends up in Prison. The most interesting thing to note about this letter was that it was the only epistle written for no specific trouble but rather to express his gratitude for the tremendous ministry of care this church at Philippi had directed towards him and above all their partnership in the work of the Kingdom of God. Though written from the Prison, it is amazing to read of the joy it expresses and encourages those out to rejoice in the Lord.

The evidence of what his imprisonment had caused Encouraged Him the more to rejoice and share with the brethren he left in the local church. Clearly this letter portrays Paul's Joy even in problems, the example of Christ humility despite his horrific treatment and God's peace and provision in the midst of trouble.

Our focus in this epistle is chapter 4:6-7. Here Paul aligns four things that should help us to maintain hope even when things are not going the way we expected. Usually in such a situation the first thing that happens is we begin to panic and worry. In those two verses Paul prescribes a potent remedy for the malady of worry.
Firstly he commands whoever is faced with an unsettling situation not give room to fear, worry or panic. He gives a simple prescription - Pray. As if that is not enough he expounds what he means. - Tell God exactly the matter and what you need. Further he reminds us that certainly that is not the first time we have had challenges. To be alive this day Paul says it is a testimony, so thank God for all he has done. This combination of prayer and thanksgiving releases a a deep seated peace in our hearts that nobody else but God can give. It is this peace he says that guards our hearts and minds. Wha t a wonderful cure for uncertainties of today and tomorrow.

Dear Friend as we face the third week of the month, consider for a moment the many wonderful experiences you have had. The song writer says count your blessing and name them one by one...

What a lesson and challenge Paul, the old man, the Prisoner teaches about life and its problems yet the fact that the Prison only restricts physical movement but does not restrict the heart exercise in Prayer action. The prison only limits the body, but the gospel is not bound. Paul teaches us that no circumstance should rob us of our joy neither should we allow the devil to steal our song in this season. If he could from Prison tell the Philippians to rejoice always he is remembering his experience years earlier right there in Philippi when he was first thrown in jail and the effect of praise in provoking a miracle and their release, so he had a real foundation to speak even now from another prison in Rome.

In what ever situation you find yourself today remember Paul prescription to take you beyond it is as follows: Rejoice in the Lord always Don't worry, Pray Remember his good deeds Thank God for everything Receive His Peace, that peace will flood your heart and stabilize your whole being. Hope, Truly surmounts every Obstacle. Don’t therefore go about daily life without Hope, the Most needed Ingredient in Life. Hallelujah!!!

Have a Blessed Day.

THE CHALLENGE OF KNOWING GOD IN THE 21ST CENTURY - (PART I)

We live at a time when the action of one person, Nation or a group of people has a chain or domino effect on other communities or the world as a whole. Consider the the impact of the American - Israel and Iran war. The effect of this war is now felt in Africa by the ordinary street vendor as well as the city passenger taking a cab in London or Mumbai in India. We are therefore living in Complicated and Challenging times in which no body is spared. These are also days of Deception and Confusion whether on a Diplomatic Peace Negotiating table to dealing with the Drug and Terrorist acting to gain money and wealth through ransoms and extortion.

What should we do in the face of these kinds of situations and conditions? While the reaction of some Believers is to cave in under pressure, compromise or give up completely, others simply act or play the Ostrich! But what are we disciples of Jesus supposed to do in such a time as this? Times which I have described as Delicate, Dangerous, Difficult, and Decisive. We shall draw lessons from some biblical examples similar to our times.

In the Book of Daniel we read the story of a King who was not only Powerful but Wicked and Oppressive!
Daniel 11:32 (KJV) He did not only conquer other lands, yet he sort to lead the people of God to reject and denounce their Loyalty towards God. We read in Daniel 11:32 -
“He will flatter and win over those who have violated the covenant. But the people who know their God will be strong and will resist him.”

Today we shall meditate on the theme: “THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD.”
Our Scripture Text was written in a time of Compromise, Deception, and Pressure. While Some people were being corrupted through flatter yet another group stood out determined to do what they knew was right. Our Scripture text describes this second group as ..”those who knew their God!” Yes, they had a Spiritual and Moral Backbone to resist evil! Hallelujah. Here their knowledge of God, gave them spiritual power and their resistance or Evil gave them a Moral back bone! While we commonly say Knowledge is Power, the Bible says, Truth sets free from Deception and Ignorance.

Dear Friend my one question to you this day is Do You truly know God? The emphasis on our text is those that Know their God……
Not those who knew about God.
Not those who were religiously active.
But those who have a Deep, Experiential Knowledge of God. They Know and Relate with Him on a practical daily basis. This is so important and we go about daily in our life business and Projects and Kingdom Missions.

The Irony of today’s society is that while there is a great quest for Knowledge in every domain from science to sociology, politicians to finance, technology to culture, contrarily, there is less interest in he of the Holy and direct defiance and resistance to the knowledge of God! Wait a minute, what preoccupies your mind in these last days? Does God have a place in your desire to grow and mature in this life? While the fool says there is no God, the atheist strives to deny what he knows does not exist right? Hear me now and hear me well: While there is a reward of knowledge in every domain of life, it must interest you to know that there are also consequences for not knowing God.

There is a direct danger of not knowing God. Our scripture of focus says:
“Such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries…” That text begins with a sobering reality: People who do not truly know God are easily corrupted! Be reminded again that such knowledge is not head knowledge by experiential! The lack of such knowledge of God make men and women simply religious and they can fall to any kind of doctrine or belief. Here is a list of some dangers you risk of being ignorant of God.

1. Vulnerability to Deception: easily carried away by Flattery which is manipulation, false teaching, cultural pressures. Paul describes this in Ephesians 4:14 –that such people are “tossed to and fro… by every wind of doctrine” This has compounded in today’s world: Consider the excesses of Social media ideologies, Prosperity without holiness and Relativism it all depends on how you see things - (“your truth vs. my truth”)! The bottom line is: If you don’t know God, you will believe anything that sounds good.
2. Inability to Resist evil as a result we Compromise Under Pressure: instability in Faith exposes any one When persecution or pressure comes, shallow faith collapses. The Master Himself told the parable of the sower describing the seeds that feel on rocky ground Matthew 13:20–21 – the seed with no root so they germinated quite alright but soon withered and died. May your Faith not die in this generation in Jesus’ Name! Do not be one who walk of Faith is Conditional or atmospheric! Many today follow God for benefits not because they know Him. What is your motivation for following or serving God?
3. Powerless Christianity: The foundation of the Christian Faith is based on the finished work of the Cross. The centrality of the Cross and the man who died in the middle cross demarcates Christianity from other faiths. While this seems radical and even intolerant, it is a brutal truth. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one has ever declared or claimed Ashe did to be these three Absolutes! Concerning that Truth Paul declared so emphatically in 2 Timothy 3:5 some are void of that knowledge they seemingly know God or are simply religious and so “having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof!” Here is my simple explanation: Any Religion without a relationship with the living God produces: Religious fanatics, Weak believers, Ignorant, Silent witnesses and Defeated lives. Clearly nobody can defend or stand for a God you do not know. How well do you know your God.

Today is your opportunity to embark on the journey of knowing God. But since he is a Spirit and human are limited physical beings, God revealed Himself through the Person of our Lord Jesus Christ. He it was who told thomas if you have seen me, you have seen the Father. Yes, today, onlookers should be able to gain understanding of our faith by merely watching us. If that is not the case then I dare say our faith might be fake in a generation of many Fake things.

Dear Reader Friend, Could you serve as a true Compass leading people to the invisible God? Think seriously about the fact that you may be the only written book some people may ever read about Faith in the Living God, so let your light so shine before Men that they will glorify your Father, God in Heaven.
