IT’S A NEW DAY,
IT’S A NEW MONTH
Recently, I conducted a discipleship training with a group of couples. Before we began, we had a five-minute icebreaker exercise. Once everyone had the necessary materials, I started the countdown.
At two-minute intervals, I announced the time remaining. As we approached the end, I shouted, “Time is running out!” Finally, when the clock reached zero, I declared: “TIME OUT!!!” One participant immediately exclaimed, “I was still trying to figure out what to do!” That statement stayed with me.
Yesterday, as I reflected and prayed about what God’s word might be for us in this new month, I was reminded of that exercise. I sensed the Holy Spirit impressing upon my heart: “Tell them: TIME IS RUNNING OUT!”
Dear Friend, Brother, Sister,
What does the thought of time evoke in your heart and spirit? Time is one of God’s greatest gifts, yet one of life’s most limited resources. We can recover lost money, rebuild possessions, and sometimes restore broken relationships but we cannot recover yesterday. Time waits for nobody!
Every sunrise brings us another opportunity, but it also means that another portion of our allotted time has passed. The Bible says: “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” — Psalm 90:12
TIME IS RUNNING OUT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH WHAT GOD HAS ENTRUSTED TO YOU? Every one of us has been entrusted with something!
Are you a preacher? There is a message God has entrusted to you. Are you declaring it according to Biblical writ or inventing your own message? Necessity is laid upon every messenger to convey the message of his Master! Accountability will be based on that Mission entrusted into your hands.
Are you a parent? There are lives and generations entrusted to your care. You cannot give what you do not have. Bringing up another generation demands we do so in word and life example. How are you living as seniors before the onlooking young generation?
Are you a student? There is knowledge, preparation and influence entrusted to you. Do not study just to pass exams, Train to impact and transform communities and society as a whole. The Scriptures say in 1 Timothy 4:12 Study to show yourself approved unto God, a Workman that does not need to be ashamed… Whatever field of study you are engaged in, ensure that you do no neglect studying the book for out of it are Principles and guidelines for a life approved by God.
Are you a politician or community leader? There is a constituency and an opportunity for service entrusted to you. Are you living for yourself or the people you represent?
Are you a businessperson? There are resources and people entrusted to your stewardship. Do not do business recklessly! While it is often said that no successful business person has grown without bribery and corruption, you are challenged however to do business to honour God. Yes, your business becomes your service to God. Commit your ways , your transactions unto the Lord, trust Him and He will direct your paths and connections.
Are you an Influencer? What are you doing with Masses following you? Why are you Missing in Action in the Face of all the Kidnappings, Ritual Killings, Abuses, Assaults on Women, Abuse of Power, Corruption? The privilege of having such a powerful platform is not merely to feel good but to Change Communities and Society as a whole!!! It is not to make a name for yourself but be able to be a Voice for the Voiceless. Where are you Influencer the days of Child abuse and the ongoing human trafficking, Modern day Slavery and Feminicide? You can begin today.
And Finally in all else that you may be engaged in doing, remember that you are a disciple of Jesus. There is a Gospel, a Testimony and a Mission entrusted to you. The question is not merely, “What do I have?”
The greater question is: “What am I doing with what God has placed in my hands?” Jesus reminds us in John 9:4: “We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.” There is a day, and there is a night. There is an opportunity, and there is a deadline to be met. Live conscious of that fact of fleeting reality of life.
Once again be reminded that: *TIME IS RUNNING OUT*!!! Don’t merely spend your time, invest it in eternity. Don’t merely live your life, fulfill your assignment. Don’t wait for the perfect time, this is the time God has given you. The clock is ticking. Jesus is coming soon so Make your life count from this first day of the Month!
