Our Worship Style provides a mix between traditional and contemporary formats with the goal of leading all worshippers into the presence of God. We at First Baptist believe that individuals need to worship God, for it is in worship that we commune with Him, grow in Him, respond to
Him, and offer praise and thanksgiving. Through inspirational teaching and preaching, worshippers are given new insights into God's Word and encouraged to apply those insights to their daily lives. What we do in worship carries the good news of Christ to all people who see and hear. Throughout our 150-plus year history, our people have sought to minister to the surrounding community while continuing to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Our Affiliations with the Shelby Baptist Association, the Alabama Baptist State Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention strengthen our commitment to reach our community, state, and world for Christ. Each week, you'll find numerous opportunities to learn more about Christ and grow in Him, to fellowship with others, and to touch lives through worship, Bible study, missions activities and other events.
