Last week Matthew (PhD, BS-Preaching) successfully defended his dissertation titled: THE PERICOPAL HOMILETICS OF ABRAHAM KURUVILLA AND THE REDEMPTIVE-HISTORICAL HOMILETICS OF SYDNEY GREIDANUS FAVORING THE GRAMMATICAL-HISTORICAL HOMILETICS OF WALTER KAISER.

Dr. Thor Madsen and Dr. Seth Pankratz served on his committee.

One historical problem skeptics still can’t explain: the tomb of Jesus had no body.

Muhammed has a grave.
Buddha has a grave.
Joseph Smith has a grave.

But when it comes to Jesus, there's no grave. The most famous man in all of history does not have a resting place.

Some claim the disciples stole Him. But these are the same guys who ran away when Jesus was arrested.

Now we’re supposed to believe they suddenly outsmarted Roman guards and pulled off a Mission: Impossible heist and stole Jesus' body?

Even harder to explain: every one of them was willing to suffer and die for what they claimed they saw. And not one of them ever said it was a lie.

That leaves one question skeptics still have to answer:

Where is the body of Jesus?

And the answer is easy, it's right in scripture. "He is not here, for he has risen, as he said."

When genuine sin isn't identified, personal preferences can quietly become moral standards within the church. When this happens, suspicion and slander can follow. This principle was true in Jesus' trial as the Pharisees brought false and misleading charges to Pilate (Luke 23:1-2), and it's a danger the Church must remain alert to today. The body of Christ must be on guard against moralizing preferences. May we be people who pursue truth with humility, resist unfair judgments, and protect unity within the Church.

Where might God be inviting us to examine our hearts and lay down preferences amongst ourselves?

Hard times don’t just happen; they’re created by weak men. What our world needs isn’t weaker men... but strong men under the Lordship of Christ. Meek men.

True meekness isn’t softness. It’s power under control. It's strong men who bow to Jesus, lead with courage, and worship without shame.

It’s time for men to rise again. 🔥✝️
