“We are his people: the sheep of his flock.”

Today’s readings remind us that we belong to God.

He tells His people, “I bore you up on eagle wings and brought you here to myself.” Even while we were helpless, Christ died for us. Before we ever earned it, God loved us.

And because we have received so much, we are called to give.

Jesus looks at the crowds with compassion and sends His disciples out to serve, heal, and proclaim that the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

“Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give.”

May we remember who we belong to, and may our lives bear witness to the love we have received.

His Heart is merciful, patient, wounded for our sins, and burning with love for every soul.

Today, let us turn to the Heart of Jesus with trust and ask Him to make our hearts more like His.

St. Barnabas was known as a son of encouragement.

He helped build up the early Church, supported the mission of St. Paul, and preached the Gospel with generosity and courage.

His life reminds us that encouragement is a powerful form of service. A faithful Christian helps others grow closer to Christ.
