Tuesday's devotional for the week of 9/7/26
No matter your age, if your goal is to please God and become more Christlike in your attitude and behavior, do as 2Timothy 2:15 urges and 'Study to show thyself approved...' for as a faithful follower of Christian values, [one who is not ashamed] having Gods approval during your Christian Walk is of the utmost importance, because [God knows] that without knowing whether or not what you do is pleasing in His eyesight leaves you feeling sort of empty inside...so unsure of yourself that you find yourself in desperate need of a pat on the back [sort of speak]... BUT GOD, being all- knowing, He lovingly promises that during our walk with Christ, He will keep in perfect peace those whose mind stays on him... So as Proverbs 4:25 advises... “Let your eyes look directly forward, your gaze be straight before you,” and just keep on keeping on, for God [with a watchful eye] also promises that He will instruct, guide and counsel us [through the promptings of the Holy Spirit] in the way we should go, [that is] if we do not conform to the behavior and customs of this wayward world, but let go and let the Spirit of God renew our way of thinking so that we learn and know His will for our lives, [and thereby] be fulfilled in our desire to garner His approval as a worker who need not be ashamed, because our ultimate goal is to please God, and live a life [in Christ]... Romans 12:2

Monday's devotional for the week of 9/7 thru 9/11/26
Yes...without a doubt, some of our days has more than enough of its share of troubles, and you have to have faith that God [Romans 8:28] will work them out for your good... However, 'having faith' is not just something that just miraculously happens, for in the same way you workout your muscles each day to strengthen them, you've got to activate and exercise your faith with the same due diligence, because faith without works is dead!!! So, the more you exercise having faith in God and His promises, the stronger it becomes in [making faith] your today's ceiling, and your tomorrow's floor... For as Christians, [as a matter of teamwork] we are called to pray like it depends on God, but activate our faith like our life depends on having it, lest we end up with our professed trust in God being only a declaration of half-baked spirituality, for as Ecclesiastes 4:9 says, "two are better than one" [and] in order to glorify God’s existence in our lives and shine like stars amongst this corrupted society we live in, [as followers of Christian values] we must hold firmly to God's Word of truth... Philippians 2:14-16

Devotional for Friday and the conclusion of the week 8/31 thru 9/4/26
The word for you today is that "God is"... He is our ever-present help in our times of need, distress, challenges, our hope for a better tomorrow...Our faith tells us to keep trusting, praying and 'believe' in the One who according to his power at work in us, is able to do more for us than we can ever need, ask for, or even imagine, so don't let the difficulties of your day cause you to lose hope... Trouble don't last, and this ain't your 1st Rodeo, for as John 16:33 forwarns, 'problems are a given' and bad stuff happens to good people...No one is immune to experiencing hardships, it's just part of living, and how you respond to them is your test, so "activate your faith" because everything has an expiration date...Have a great weekend!

Thursday's devotional for the 1st week of September 8/31 thru 9/4/26
Food for thought...We must all practice the art of listening, because during this age of miscommunication, understanding is truly the best thing in the world.
Fact is, when you are only waiting for someone else to stop talking so that you can speak your piece, hearing is a whole lot easier than listening, because real listening requires you to temporarily silence your own opinions in favor of hearing someone else's, making it a bit more difficult [not only] to be patient, but to understand & comprehend the point the other person is trying to make... That's why so many conversations seen to end in a battle of wits, [competitive in its nature] because while one person is speaking, the other is too busy preparing a defense, an argument, or a clever response than actually listen... So, even though the words spoken are heard, the meaning behind them is missed, or swept under the rug because of one's impatient attitude to have their say... Therein lies the problem we have today as a society, which is the primary cause of misunderstandings, too much blabbering without substance, [because sometimes] the most important part of a conversation exists between the words spoken, and if you pay attention, listening carefully to what someone [besides yourself] is actually struggling to say, you find that you don't always have to be in agreement with them, for the wisdom of understsnding is not found in having the perfect response, but in patiently giving someone enough respect to hear them out completely instead of treating the conversation like it's a battle royale! That's one reason why James 1:19 implores us to 'be slow to speak and quick to listen' for when you listen to understand, and not just to respond, sometimes found in your silence] is what you're both hoping to achieve...an understanding with some sort of common ground, for how can two walk together with any type of civility unless they are in agreement to at least 'try?' [Amos 3:3]

Devotional for a prayerful Wednesday 9/2/26
More so than ever before [in our lifetime] has spiritual vigilance and discernment been so important in the life of a Christian, for as the forces of evil swirl around us, we are charged to study to show ourselves capable of rightly dividing truth from fiction. For, God's Word is truth, and in his eyes, obedience to it is better than any sacrifice we can offer to Him, for He is impartial to our ways, [and therefore] doesn't forgive us just because we call ourselves 'Christians...' Nope, God wants us to live our lives according to His Word, His will and His way, because if He spared not the angels that were in disobedience to him, and cast them down into this fallen world to await their final judgment, a word to the wise "like Matthew 12:36" should be sufficient, for God has set a day in time when [we will all] be required to stand before Him in judgment, and be required to give an account for every careless word we've ever spoken and every action we've ever committed... To God be the glory, for ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes have been made intelligible and clearly discernible to us so that we are without excuse, for who else has the power to separate the waters of the earth from the waters of heaven but God? His authority is supreme...Isaiah 66:1

Devotional for Tuesday the week of 8/31 thru 9/4/26
WOW, Wow, wowser...Do I really need to say it? Time flies, another month has come and gone [and now] here we are in the ninth month of a year where, [to say the least] the only thing to be really thankful for is "God's grace" and the unmerited favor of his continued presence in our lives...[Deuteronomy 31:6]
AND SO, with that said...NOTE TO SELF...
As our days morph into days, [tic tock, the clock is ticking] making it time to pay more attention to making [you] a better person today than you were yesterday...You can spend a lifetime opening doors for others to have a better life without ever opening your own, [proving] how easy it is to get caught up in helping sort out problems and concerns for other people while neglecting your own, which [for you] is a losing proposition... Galatians 6:4-5 shouts out that each one of us is responsible for our own actions, [as well as] should carry their own burdens... FACT IS...It's hard to carry somebody else's weight when you have so much of your own to bear, so lightening your own load first makes it wayyy easier to help someone else lighten theirs...REMEMBER THAT!!!

Monday's devotional for the week of 8/31 thru 9/4/26
As the world turns, when you look back over the landscape of your life without the use of rose-colored glasses, it's easy to connect the dots and see the difference in the way you were living then, and the way you're living now...For though time passes quickly, and our attention span wavers, we've all experienced that moment in time when due to our activities, or the people we kept company with, [everything changed]... sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worst, as something happened that we will forever remember as that specific moment in time when our life evolved, and with it, so did we...now whether or not it was for the better is open for interpretation depending on how our individual lives turned out since that moment, and how it equates to our personal [present-day] relationships with others, for we all see ourselves a certain way, and having a moment of empathy with someone we spiritually trust is crucial to our understanding
how far we've actually progressed, or regressed, in our growth and walk with Christ...[Isaiah 43:18-19]

Friday's devotional for the conclusion of the week 8/24 thru 8/28/26
FINAL THOUGHT...Life is ever evolving, and all it encompasses, including your relationships with people, 'everything' from the dawn of a new day to the setting of its sun, 'everything' has an expiration date that's mostly, [sometimes completely] out of our control, as things can and will just happen by happenstance... So, when you can't control what's going on, you must challenge yourself to control your response to what's going on, because the ever-changing circumstances of life are a given, and its unpredictability demands that we adapt, recover, and grow from the effects, and the disruption of our life [it leaves] in the wake of its occurrence...Fact is, nothing in life is set in stone but death and taxes, for time and chance happen to us all, and when life happens, and due to unforeseen circumstances, things don't go as planned, people we know and love seemingly just drift away unnoticed and without warning, and yet, life goes on... "It hurts" not because we're weak, but because we care enough to be affected by how life evolved...However, since God is in control, there is power in standing tall in the midst of such unwanted happenings and 'activating your faith' in God's will be done, for everything happens for a reason, and that reason is..."such is life!" So, by not caving into the despair of disappointment, and responding to the negativity of life's changes with positivity when everybody expects you to throw in the towel, you activate the power of God's grace... for your faith becomes your super strength and your ray of sunshine on a cloudy day, [because]....... "Everything in life has its season" and you're not in chargeHave a great weekend!!!

Devotional for Thursday the week of 8/24/26
As you may have noticed, many a person mourns the passing of 'Dolly Parton'...without a doubt she had her faults, but she was an individual whose zest for life [even during her later years] was an inspiration to so many people throughout the years, for it proved that "age" [indeed] is just a number! Besides that, upon news of her death, the bombardment of accolades she was receiving was proof positive of how one can leave a legacy of remembrance when they live lives of love, kindness and genorisity, for both during and after their life on this side of glory, it reverberates across all spectrums of people... So thank God for the cloud of witnesses He makes known to us, for the life they live helps us learn the understated importance of authentically loving our neighbor as we love ourselves, for as many have said, Dolly Parton certainly lived her life in a way that was genuine, [as duly noted] in the amount of respect and admiration that she's received from people, who acknowledge the life of love and respect for others she exemplified for the world to see... May we all learn from her example, for as it's been said, a confident lie will always prevail over an uncertain truth...So, as Hebrews 12:1 encourages us...Let us throw off anything and everything that hinders us from living a life of faith, and run the race God has entered us into... May Dolly, and her 'coat of many colors' be remembered in the hearts of those she touched... RIP!!!

Mid-week prayer/devotional for Wednesday 8/26/26
Father God, in the name of Jesus..."Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone." [Psalm 71:9] Amen

As one gets up there in years, aging gracefully comes down to the attitude of a person and not what they look like, or can and can't do anymore! 'Longevity' is a blessing, so it's important to feel good about oneself and have no regrets for aging, because it's a privilege denied to many. Give thanks to the creator, and direct your focus on the joys of living rather than your limitations, because age is a state of mind, and you're only as old as you feel, for the amount of energy you have and the unwaning curiosity you still possess makes life worth living even though you don't function as well as you did in your younger years... Fact is, a positive outlook, relatively good health, not being sedentary, and actively engaging with living can keep you feeling young regardless of your birthdate, so [per Proverbs 1:5] "let the wise listen and add to their learning..." for is not wisdom found among the aged who have understanding [Job 12:12] For there's something to be said about those who have a deeper appreciation of life's simple pleasures!!!
