Proverbs 16:18: "First pride, then the crash— the bigger the ego, the harder the fall".

Proverbs 8:13: "To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech".

Proverbs 11:2: "When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom".

Romans 12:3: "Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you".

I selfishly gave the task to someone else to stand fast in this muck and mire to keep me anchored in God. I selfishly sacrificed others to this while I decided to go forth and do. I selfishly and with great ego decided they were to stay right where I put then while I go into the storm alone. I gave them the end of the rope. Then. I got mad when it became too tight on their hand and they dropped it. No one can be secure in such a place without God. No couple can be successful if one partner leaves and the other is drowning in a storm not of their making. No family, friends, no one can survive out there alone. I want to say..those that I left, I am sorry and I apologize. I didn't know the magnitude of you and I forgot the fullness of our God. Also, forgive me because I put you in His place and became mad when you didn't meet the expectations of the Divine. Please forgive me.

It is hard to admit mishandling of things. It is even harder to release the guilt of doing so. Sometimes, you mishandled yourself in the circumstances and others you mishandled the circumstance and people in it. Guilt can come because you want to make it "right". But sometimes, the mishandling on all sides was to bring you to a place of brokenness. This is where true healing begins. I did not know how much I was carrying and throwing under a blanket, in bags, all around me. So much grief. So much ugliness. Such a stench. But I thought I have been doing well in all things. Just because you are not carrying it all the time does not mean it won't affect every aspect of your life. So, get up and tell God ... I'm sorry. I wouldn't let You have it because in all this mess, I felt You were mishandling me. So I kept all this and said I'm ok. I'm successful. I can fix all this. But....reality I need You more than ever.
