This week’s Sunday School lesson is:
“God Speaks Through His Church.”
The author presents the question: “What kinds of words give the devil opportunities to work in the life of the church and individual Christians?”
There is an old saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” That’s so far from the truth! Words do hurt.
If we are not mindful of what we say and how we speak to others, we can be guilty of allowing the devil to use us as a vessel to do his dirty work. Christians, don’t let the devil use you. You are an ambassador of God!
Scripture teaches us in Ephesians 4:16:
“From Him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building itself up in love by the proper working of each individual part.”
Every part of the body is important. The head allows each part of the body to grow and mature rather than focusing on the growth of only a favored few. Each individual part is essential to holding the entire body together in unity.
Paul describes this kind of love in 1 Corinthians 13 as patient and kind. It is not envious, boastful, or arrogant. It is not rude or self-seeking. It is not irritable, and it refuses to keep a record of wrongs.
Such love “beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”
What a beautiful reminder of how we are called to treat one another as the body of Christ. ❤️
Join us this week for Sunday School as we take a deeper dive into how God speaks and works through His church. We would love to have you!
