Mt. Vernon Community Garden "A Free Market for Health and Wellness" located inside Myers Park on Woodleaf Barber Road. Fall crops going in right now. Okra, squash, egg plant still available. Collards, mixed greens, and "creassy greens" will post when ready to harvest.

We still have some morning and early afternoon slots available to the mobile mammogram tomorrow at Mt. Vernon, 435 Carson Road, Cleveland, NC. Church number 704-278-9389l All forms can be filled out on site in the Fellowship Hall.

Coming Soon! We had a hitch in the delivery date so I had to take a picture of our newest piece of equipment for children k-6 years. The Agnant Family picture on our swing set. They are new to the area (Mooresville). Just moved here from Ft. Laurdale, FL. Their children playing really enhanced the picture.
Looking forward to entertaining the children in the Woodleaf Barber Road Community. Special Thanks to the Blanche and Julian Roberson Foundation, truly champions for community revitalization. Gino and Kelly, thank you for the "kodak moment"

Soil preparation in progress, getting ready for cool weather crops:
Collards, Mixed Greens, Turnips.
Due to extremely hot weather and drought the pumpkins did not survive. We still have okra, squash, cantalopes, and late tomatoes coming on now.

Gate closed today to allow okra to reproduce, corn and peas to be plowed under this week for planting of collards and mixed greens. The drought got to the pumpkins, halloween will not happen at the garden this year; but Trick-a-Trunk is still on at the church. Squash is still plentiful and the second round of tomatoes are coming on strong.

I love it when a plan comes together, six visitors in the garden today picking peas, okra, and eggplant. 40 dozen eggs distributed during the month of July. For those of you that bake I have one more dozen of duck eggs available. God has blessed the crop in spite of the drought conditions.
