We’re starting with McKinley.
McKinley has been coming to Asbury Hills since she was going into third grade. After 10 years as a camper, she became a summer staff member and has now returned for her second summer as a counselor, traveling all the way back from the University of Wyoming.
She says the counselors and staff who poured into her over the years helped shape who she is today and inspired her to come back and pour into campers in the same way. Asbury Hills has also played a huge part in growing her faith in the Lord. She says that while we come here to pour into campers, they pour right back into us through their genuine and strong faith.
And then there’s the story she’ll probably never forget: one night, McKinley was running around, tripped, and somehow injured her liver. Sarah Moseley and Allie Redmond had to take her to the hospital! Even after that, the love, support, and sweet letters she received from the staff made her come back the next year more excited than ever.
That’s part of what makes Asbury Hills so special—the people who pour into us, the faith that grows here, and the stories we carry with us long after we leave the mountain.
As we celebrate 65 years, we want to help make sure future generations have the opportunity to create their own Asbury Hills stories too.
💚 Come home for the My Asbury Hills Alumni Gathering at Fall Festival on October 17. We’d love to celebrate with you.
