BACK TO SCHOOL. BACK TO CHURCH. BACK TO WHAT MATTERS MOST.
September brings a new school year, new schedules, new responsibilities, and plenty of opportunities to get busy. The pace of life begins to pick up again, calendars fill up quickly, and before long, it can become easy to give God whatever time is left over.
Don't let that happen this school year.
As you prepare your children for another year of school, make sure you are preparing their hearts for another year of serving the Lord. School is important. Homework is important. Sports and activities have their place. But none of these things should take the place of faithfully attending the house of God.
Our children need more than a good education. They need to know the truth of God's Word. They need parents who will lead by example. They need to see that church is not something we attend only when nothing else is scheduled. They need to see that God comes first.
There will always be an excuse to miss church. There will always be another activity, another game, another event, another trip, or another opportunity that seems important at the moment. But we must be careful that the good things of life don't become more important than the things of God.
This September, make a commitment to be faithful.
Be in your place.
Bring your Bible.
Bring your family.
Bring your children.
Invite someone to come with you.
Be faithful to the house of God.
The habits and priorities we establish today will influence the next generation. Let's teach our children that church is not an option to be squeezed into the calendar. Church matters because God matters.
At Emmanuel Baptist Church, we believe in the old-fashioned principles of Bible preaching, faithful church attendance, soul winning, Christian living, and standing firmly on the Word of God. We want to help families grow in the Lord and remain faithful in a world that is constantly pulling their attention in another direction.
Back to school. Back to church. Back to God's Word. Back to putting God first.
Don't let the busyness of a new school year pull your family away from the Lord. Make this school year a year of faithfulness.
