Good morning at Pleasant Grove today. Bro. Charlie Tissandier brought the message from Romans 8 and Phil and Julie shared a song.

Several announcements for events coming soon:

- Next Sunday, September 13, the Change Challenge officially begins. The children will be collecting change each week during the offering time, and all members of the church are encouraged to challenge themselves to do more for the Lord, growing spiritually while giving to the Lord of our time, talents, and offerings. The challenge will continue through May 2027.

- Also next Sunday, Zo will be taking the Children's Church students to a nearby pumpkin farm during the worship hour. Children attending this "field trip" should have a written permission slip from their parents. Questions - contact Zo.

- In addition, we have a guest speaker next Sunday morning, Bro. Vice, a friend of Julie and Phil's who will also be singing with the Rays that morning. Let's make Bro. and Sis. Vice welcome.

- The Chosen will continue with the showing of Season 3, Episode 8 (the final episode of Season 3) on Sunday, September 13, at 5:30 PM. All are welcome to see this episode, filled with miracles performed by Jesus during his ministry.

- The Ladies Ministry will meet on Sunday, September 20, immediately following the worship service. Ladies, bring a lunch snack to share and enjoy a few hours of fellowship among sisters. For more information, contact Julie Ray.

- Zo asked everyone to begin thinking of and working toward the Fall Fest, to be held in mid to late October (date to be determined this week). We'll have food, and folks are asked to bring desserts and craft items, possibly "theme baskets" (such as a movie basket - movie tix, popcorn, candy, etc., or other "themes") to be auctioned with proceeds going to support activities for our children and young people throughout the year. This is always a fun event, so please be thinking of ways to participate in the Fall Fest.

Lots going on this fall. Let's also remember to pray for our families and friends who are having health issues (Nels and Karen Balwit, Michael, Orvalene, and Carl Martin, Bonnie Simpson - surgery this Wednesday, 9/9, Josh & Lexi and sons), and others who need our prayers and support, particularly those who have recently lost loved ones.

To God be the glory, great things He hath done!

Church - This is a long post from Jenny Siders. She read this letter at church last Sunday, 8/23, but since several folks were not there, she wanted to share this with everyone here on our FB site.

Jenny has been very faithful to our music program as well as to the children's program and our entire church for 17 years. Let's wish Jenny well as she moves to her new ministry and pray for her, Caleb, Fisher, and Zoey as they step out on faith.

We love you, Siders family! -Tish

"Dear Church Family,

I have accepted a position at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, where I will serve as the Child Care Coordinator for the Protestant chapels on base. This past Sunday (8/23/26) was my last day at Pleasant Grove.

This decision has not been taken lightly. Caleb and I have prayed about it, and we both feel, without a doubt, that this is where God has led us. Leaving is hard because I came to Pleasant Grove in 2009. I was twenty-three years old and freshly married. You have watched me grow up, and you have watched our family grow. My children have been raised in this church. We have shared so many wonderful memories together, and you have loved and supported
us through so many seasons of life.

We will forever be grateful that God led us here and that each of you has been part of our story. Pleasant Grove will always hold a very special place in our hearts. We will try to come back from time to time, because even though we are leaving, we are not forgetting where God has brought us.

I am thankful that God knows exactly what we need and that His timing is always perfect.

Over the last several years, I have applied for more than two hundred jobs. Again and again, those applications resulted in what felt like another slammed door in my face. There were so many times I wondered what God was doing and why the opportunities I thought were right for me never worked out.

Then, while I was on vacation, I found out about this position.
The truth is, I wasn't even looking for a job. This opportunity truly just fell into my lap. I applied without really expecting it to go anywhere. Then I was invited to interview with five Air Force chaplains.

I cannot fully explain the peace that came over me while I was there. It was as if God had been preparing me for this exact position all these years. Looking back, I can see that God was working through every one of those slammed doors. What I thought were missed opportunities were actually part of
His preparation. He has taken years of discouragement, waiting, and wondering and redeemed them for His purpose in my life.
One of the chapels had been closed for three years because of maintenance issues. It just reopened in June. There has also been a complete restructuring, both of the building and some of the leadership. We will have the opportunity to help build the
church programs from the ground up. I cannot think of a better time to be part of something so exciting. In a world full of chaos and uncertainty, God still remains the same. I have the
opportunity to be part of sharing that truth, serving others, building something meaningful, and helping bring people closer to the Lord.
I am so thankful that God knows what is best for us. I am thankful that He saved me from what I thought was right for my life. Sometimes His plans simply take time to be revealed.

I have been incredibly blessed to be able to stay home and raise my children. That is something I will always treasure. But even during those years, my heart has longed to be part of something bigger. This opportunity feels like an answer to so many prayers.
It allows me to use the college degrees and experience God has given me. It allows me to continue operating my cleaning business. It allows me to continue homeschooling Zoey. It gives me the opportunity to continue serving in the church. And it will allow me to help our family financially. In today's world, with the rising
cost of everything, it may not be a huge amount, but it will certainly help.

More than anything, though, I want to follow God's will. So my answer is Yes. Lord, yes! Yes to Your will and to Your way. I'll say, "Lord, yes." I will serve You and obey. When Your Spirit speaks to me, with my whole heart I'll agree.
And my answer will be yes, Lord. Yes.

Thank you for loving our family, praying for us, encouraging us, and being such an important part of our lives. Thank you for the years of memories, laughter, worship, service, and fellowship.
We love you more than words can say, and we will forever be grateful for the years God allowed us to spend at Pleasant Grove.

With all our love,

Jenny, Caleb, Fisher, and Zoey"
