Archaeologists have discovered the remains of a battle recorded in the Bible over 2,700 years ago. At the ancient city of Lachish in Israel, researchers uncovered a massive siege ramp, hundreds of arrowheads, slingstones and burned fortifications, revealing evidence of a devastating battle. The discovery matches the Assyrian invasion of 701 BC, described in 2 Kings 18.
Even more remarkably, the Assyrians carved detailed images of the same battle onto the walls of their king's palace. Thousands of years later, both the battlefield remains and the ancient carvings still survive, providing extraordinary archaeological evidence of an event recorded in the Bible.
