Never too young to volunteer! ❤️

Our little helpers joined us for food pantry packing, and they were so excited to lend a hand. 🥰

We love seeing our youngest community members learning the importance of giving back from an early age.

May Allah bless them and their families! 🤍

We have 95 bags packed and ready for distribution this Friday from 3-5pm at the Dar al Taqwa Food Pantry (located in the DAT House).

The Prophet ﷺ said, “The best among you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari)

The Qur’an has it all — answers and guidance for the questions, challenges, and situations we encounter throughout life. In times of gratitude, in times of hardship, in times of injustice, and in times of happiness — the Qur’an teaches us how to navigate each of them with the right perspective and response.

Through our AQSA Quran Learning Class, we help children learn to read the Qur’an and access its timeless guidance on how Allah ﷻ wants us to live, conduct ourselves, and interact with others. ❤️

It is through the Qur’an that we nurture the tarbiyah of our nafs, receiving constant reminders about Ihsan, Islam, and Iman, as well as the way we treat and interact with those around us.

Let’s unlock the Qur’an for your child.

📱 A wake-up call on kids & screen time.

At our Back to School Hangout with Sheikh Walid, we had an eye-opening conversation about something affecting nearly every family today: how much time our kids are spending online.

In a technologically dominant world, the pressure to be connected, stay relevant, and keep up can feel overwhelming. When we asked the kids how much time they spend on screens each day, many said 6–7 hours.

That’s basically a full-time job. 😳

So as we head into a new school year, let’s ask ourselves:
Are we helping our children use technology—or is technology using them?

May Allah help us raise a generation that knows when to disconnect, reconnect with their families and community, and stay connected to Him. 🤲

Being different doesn’t mean you’re wrong.
Allah ﷻ created us differently — and our faith is not something we should feel embarrassed to show.

Time is one of the greatest blessings Allah has given us—so don’t waste it.

One of our seniors shares a reminder for the next generation: use your youth wisely, seek knowledge, learn your deen, and invest your time in what will benefit you in this life and the next.

The habits you build today can shape the person you become tomorrow.

May Allah make us people who value our time and continuously grow in beneficial knowledge. Ameen.

Alhamdulillah for a beautiful weekend together at Rocky Gap.

Jazakum Allahu khayran to everyone who came and helped make the trip so special. May Allah ﷻ place barakah in these gatherings, strengthen the bonds between our families, and allow us to continue building a strong and connected community.

If you missed this trip, inshaAllah there will be many more opportunities to join us.

Our family community camping trip to Rocky Gap was filled with fun activities, beautiful scenery, shared meals, laughter, and plenty of time to simply enjoy being together. A perfect end-of-summer getaway and a weekend we’ll remember for a long time.

There’s a difference between seeing and looking.

البصر
Al-baṣar is what enters your sight — you may notice the people and things around you without intentionally focusing on them.

النظر
An-naẓar is when you direct your attention and continue looking.

You may not always control what enters your vision, but you can control where you choose to keep your gaze.

Islamic boundaries aren’t about pretending you don’t notice anything around you, but rather about learning to control what you give your attention to.

Being different isn’t something to be embarrassed about—it’s something to be proud of.

When you truly believe in Allah and strengthen your iman, you become more confident in your identity and less concerned about fitting in with your non-Muslim friends.

Never be ashamed of the faith Allah has blessed you with. 🤲
