Day 18! It is often said that when it comes to parenting, “more is caught than taught.” This applies to our kids watching us as a married couple as well. We want to do our best to show them how to have a healthy marriage, how to love a spouse, and how to resolve conflicts in a healthy way. This doesn’t mean we need to feel like we’ve blown it already because we are not perfect! We just need to keep fighting for our marriage and be willing to get help when we need it.

Skyscraper Date:

Set the Scene
❤️ The KEY to a successful skyscraper date isn’t how high you get; it’s how willing you are to change your perspective when you get there!

Finish Strong
❤️ how can we encourage each other to look at things from God’s perspective?

Mind Your Language
❤️ look at each other from a new perspective - one that notices the other person’s good qualities, praise-worthy attributes it God -given gifts

Take it to God
❤️ ask God to help you see things from His perspective- to recognize His ability to bring good things from bad situations

Date Night Challenge Option 2:
The Park Bench Date

Set The Scene
❤️ this date involves sitting on a park bench reading with/to each other; sharing passages that have helped shape you and make you into the person you are today

Make It Happen
❤️ code a spot that is quiet and private, listen attentively to what your date shared and ask questions that encourage them to tell you more

Finish Strong
❤️ Adopt a Bible passage as “ours” - one that best sums up our relationship or our outlook on life

Mind Your Language
❤️ let your spouse know that what’s important to them is important to you

Take it to God
❤️ thank God for the many different ways in which He teaches, inspired and motivates us

❤️ Please share a pic or two if you chose the park bench date

During Sunday Funday you received a “Date Night Challenge“ to go on an intentional date with your spouse and post a pic or two on this fb page ❤️
However, the photocopies may have been a little overwhelming and not super enticing 😂 so here’s an inspiring pic and a summary of one, The Candlelight Date ❤️

❤️ because it is God’s best for you, the journey toward intimacy is well worth the commitment
❤️ Set the Scene: candlelight physically and symbolically illuminates only the two of you!
❤️ Make it Happen: talk to each other about the first time you realized your spouse was “the one”
❤️ Finish Strong: talk about specific things you can do to keep romance alive in your marriage
❤️ Mind Your Language: tell your spouse what you love about them and how they make you feel good
❤️Take it to God: thank God for how He has allowed your relationship to deepen over time
