Cincinnati Catholic Cemetery Society

Cincinnati Catholic Cemetery Society Not-for-profit organization helping Greater Cincinnati families plan their final arrangements and commit loved ones to the peace of our Lord since 1843.

In March 1843, the bishop of Cincinnati entrusted to a group of German Catholics, the duty of providing a proper Catholic burial for Catholics in the German Catholic congregations of Cincinnati. The Society began with 19.22 acres at West Eighth Street and Enright in Price Hill. From this small beginning over 166 years ago, the legacy of sacred trust continues today as the Cincinnati Catholic Cemet

ery Society (CCCS). Today, the Society's mission remains the same, to preserve, protect and to provide a means for proper Catholic burial and the maintenance of burial property for all Catholic congregations of the Cincinnati area.

This Memorial Day Weekend, we pause in prayerful gratitude to honor the brave Men and Women who laid down their lives for another — for Faith, Family, Freedom, and Country.

From all of us at St. Joseph Original Cemetery & Mausoleum, St. Mary Cemetery & Mausoleum, and St. John Cemetery, we remember their sacrifice, cherish their legacy, and pray God’s eternal peace upon our fallen heroes.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

May we never forget.

"Peace be with you." On this Feast of Pentecost, we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and the peace that Christ breathes into our lives. We find true rest when we trust in God's plan and prepare our hearts for what is to come. Pre-planning your final resting place allows you to settle your earthly affairs, bringing a sense of calm and readiness to your life and to your family’s future.

As Jesus offers His High Priestly Prayer, He speaks of glorifying the Father and caring for those entrusted to Him. Reflection on our own journey reminds us that we are stewards of the life and resources we have been given. Establishing your burial arrangements now is an act of faithful stewardship, ensuring that your transition to eternal life is handled with the dignity and sacredness of Catholic rites.
