New Freedom Church Exalt the King, Expand the Kingdom
Senior Pastor - David Patterson
Associate Pastor - Laci Patterson At New Freedom Church everyone is family. God Bless You!

We are dedicated to helping people begin and nurture their relationship with Christ, to live more like Him every day, and to influence others to do the same. We are a non-denominational, Holy Spirit filled church that believes there is one God, compromised of three Persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit and that the only way to salvation is accepting Christ as

your Savior. For more information about the ministry of New Freedom Church, visit

Full Enough to Overflow
Acts 4:31 NLT
After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.

When God fills someone, something comes with it.
Peter was filled with the Holy Ghost, and boldness came. The men chosen to serve in Acts 6 were full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom. Stephen was full of the Holy Ghost and saw the glory of God. Barnabas was full of the Holy Ghost and faith, and many people were impacted through his life.
There is always purpose connected to the filling.
God may fill you with boldness for a conversation you need to have. He may fill you with wisdom for a decision. He may fill you with joy when you have been heavy. He may fill you with peace when everything around you looks uncertain. He may fill you with faith to step into something you have never done before.
God does not fill us just so we can hold it. He fills us so there is overflow. There are blessings in you that other people need. There are prayers in you, words in you, encouragement in you, gifts in you, and obedience in you that God wants to use to bless someone else.
God wants to use you, not abuse you. He fills you so you can release what He has placed inside of you.
Reflection Questions:
1. What has God placed in me that may be meant to bless someone else?
2. Do I believe God can fill me with what I need for what He has called me to do?

Stay Filled
Ephesians 5:19-20 KJV
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Being filled with the Spirit is not a one-time moment. It is continual. We need to be filled again and again.
A person does not eat one meal and expect that meal to last the rest of their life. A battery can lose power even when it is not being used. Water that just sits becomes stagnant. In the same way, we cannot live off something God did years ago and expect to stay strong today.
We need a continual filling of the Holy Spirit.
One way we stay filled is through worship, thanksgiving, prayer, and releasing what God has put inside of us. As we worship, we are pouring out to God, and at the same time He fills us. As we serve, love, pray, encourage, and obey, we are releasing, and God continues to fill.
When we are filled with the Spirit, it affects our words, our thoughts, our attitude, our thankfulness, our relationships, and how we respond to life. We do not have to let the outside control the inside. The river of God begins to flow from the inside out.
Stay filled. Stay thankful. Stay flowing.
Reflection Questions:
1. What helps me stay spiritually filled during the week?
2. Where have I allowed life, frustration, or busyness to drain me instead of going back to God to be filled again?

Come See Us at Church Hill Days!

New Freedom Church is excited to be part of Church Hill Days this year, and we’d love for you to stop by our table!

Our theme is "Your Life Matters" because we believe every person has value, purpose, and significance. No matter your past, your present circumstances, or what you're facing today, your life matters to God—and it matters to us.

Stop by to say hello, receive prayer, learn more about our church family, and be encouraged. We'd love the opportunity to meet you and remind you of a simple but powerful truth:

You are loved.
You are seen.
You are valuable.
Your Life Matters.

We look forward to connecting with you at Church Hill Days!

This past Saturday, we had the privilege of celebrating the incredible teams who serve so faithfully at New Freedom Church.

From worship and children's ministry to outreach, media, hospitality, and everything in between, our church is blessed by people who generously give their time, talents, and hearts to serve others and advance the Kingdom of God.

We enjoyed great food, beautiful weather, lots of laughter, and more than a few funny stories! Most importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity to spend time together and express our gratitude to those who help make ministry happen week after week.

To every team member: Thank you for your servant heart, your dedication, and your willingness to be the hands and feet of Jesus. You are appreciated more than words can express, and New Freedom Church is stronger because of you.

We love and appreciate each and every one of you!

Filled Beyond Understanding

Luke 11:13 KJV
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Sometimes we think we have to understand everything before we can receive from God. But being filled with the Spirit never begins with our intellect understanding what is happening. It begins when we surrender all to the Lord and say, “Lord, have Your way. I want whatever You have for me.”
Pastor David often shares about how when he was new to the Lord, he loved God but did not fully understand what being filled with the Spirit meant. A great man of God prayed for him, and nothing dramatic happened in the natural. There was no outward manifestation in that moment, but everything changed on the inside.
That is important for us to remember. We do not have to figure it all out. We do not have to make something happen. We simply have to desire God, ask in faith, and receive.

The Holy Spirit works in ways we can’t always make sense of. When our heart is yielded, God is able to fill us, lead us, and begin showing us how to walk in what He has given.
To be filled with the Spirit starts with loving God and trusting Him.
Reflection Questions:
1. Am I waiting to understand everything before I receive from God?
2. What would it look like for me to surrender and say, “Lord, have Your way”?

Filled for a Purpose

Ephesians 5:18 KJV
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

God never fills something just for display. He fills it for a purpose.
A water pot is filled because it is meant to pour out. A gas tank is filled because the vehicle is meant to move. Our bodies need food and water to function, and our spirits need the Holy Spirit to function the way God created us to function.
We were not created to live empty, dry, or barely making it. God’s desire is for His people to be filled with His presence, His power, His love, His peace, and His glory.
When we are filled with the wrong things, we do not function properly. A car that takes gas cannot be filled with diesel and be expected to run right. It may sputter, smoke, and break down because it was filled with the wrong thing. Our lives work the same way. When we are filled with fear, anger, offense, worry, or the things of this world, we may try to keep going, but we will not function the way God created us to function.
But when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we are filled with exactly what we need to fulfill the purpose God has for our lives.
Being filled is not just so we can feel better. It is so God can use us. He fills us because He has something for us to do. He has people for us to love, places for us to serve, prayers for us to pray, and assignments for us to walk out.
You must be filled. If you are not filled, you cannot pour out what God has placed inside of you.
Reflection Questions:
1. What areas of my life feel spiritually dry or empty right now?
2. Am I asking God to fill me so I can be used, or only so I can feel better?
