Be Honest With God
Matthew 11:28 NKJV
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Part of yielding is being willing to be honest.
Don’t ignore your feelings. But don’t allow your feelings to become the driving force behind everything you do either.
Feelings make for a wonderfully vibrant and rich life, but feelings simultaneously make terrible gods.
If you can’t be honest with the God who gave you the ability to feel things, how can you put yourself in a place to allow Him to come in and heal the area that needs to be healed?
It’s allowing yourself to be honest with God about how you feel and what’s going on so that your feelings don’t become idols that dictate everything you do and don’t do.
Jesus said, Come to Me, all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
The ability to be honest in front of God kicks the doors wide open. It doesn’t just take a yoke of bo***ge off of you, it destroys it.
Things begin to change when you get to the place where you say, I’ve had enough of doing this my way. My way is not getting me anywhere.
He desires honesty.
Sometimes the most powerful prayer you can pray is simply, Help.
Here’s a challenge for you today:
Be completely honest with God about one area you have been trying to carry or handle yourself. Don’t hide it, minimize it, or pretend you’re fine. Bring it to Him and simply pray, Lord, help me.

In the Midst of It All… His Grace Is Enough!

What a wonderful Sunday at New Freedom Church!

This week, Pastor Laci shared a powerful message, “In the Midst Of…”, reminding us that God’s grace is so much more than undeserved favor. It’s His supernatural empowerment working in and through us!

Whether we’re walking through challenges, facing uncertainty, or simply navigating everyday life, there is a grace for every season and a grace for the race God has called us to run.

We don’t have to rely on our own strength or figure everything out ourselves. We can recognize where we’ve taken our eyes off Jesus, surrender our own understanding, and listen for His direction.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV

What a blessing to come together in worship, grow in the Word, and be reminded of God’s faithfulness!

Remember What He Has Done
Psalm 77:11–14 NLT
But then I recall all you have done, O Lord; I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago. They are constantly in my thoughts. I cannot stop thinking about your mighty works. O God, your ways are holy. Is there any god as mighty as you? You are the God of great wonders, and you demonstrate your awesome power among the nations.
Life isn’t always going to look like you want it to look.
There are going to be times when it feels like God has turned His face from you. That doesn’t mean He has. It means life can get hard, and what you see can try to convince you that God is no longer there.
Asaph started Psalm 77 asking, Has the Lord rejected me forever? Is His unfailing love gone forever? Have His promises permanently failed?
But then everything shifts.
But then I recall all You have done.
When things look dark, remember what God has already done.
I know what You’ve brought me from. I know You’re still good. I know Your hand is still on it.
We all have hardships. We all have things that we go through. But even when these things go on, He is right there with you.
Yes, I am hurt, but God. Yes, things look darker than they’ve ever looked, but God.
Here’s a challenge for you today:
Think back over your life and remember what God has already brought you through. Write down one or two things He has done, and when your circumstances try to speak louder than His faithfulness, go back and remember His works.

Love Fuels Your Light
1 Corinthians 13:13 NKJV
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

What is it that actually fuels your light?
It’s His love.

God is love. Not He has love, not He reflects love, not He has instances of love. God is love. His very being is love itself.
When you love someone, there’s nothing you won’t do for them. God demonstrated His love for us when He sent His Son to do what we could never do for ourselves.
That’s the heart behind the gospel message. It’s love.
And that same love has to be the driving force behind everything we do.
Every single empty chair represents someone He wants at His table. While He loves every single one of us more than we can imagine, His heart is still broken for the ones who don’t know just how much He loves them.
Why do we reach people? Love. Why do we serve people? Love. Why do we share the gospel? Love.
When you allow His love to be the oil of your light, that light will never go out. It cannot be quenched.
Here’s a challenge for you today:
Ask the Lord to show you the motive behind what you are doing. Is love driving it? Ask Him to fill you again with His love for the people around you and let that love fuel your light.

Know Before You Speak
James 1:19 NKJV
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
How many times have we spoken ahead of time not knowing the full story?
There are so many times where we should stay out of situations because we don’t really know the truth of the situation.
Our flesh wants to know the details. It wants to hear what people are saying and form an opinion. But when we hear something about someone, it can create a perception. Then when we see that person, we can no longer truly see them for who they are because we’re believing something somebody else said about them.
What if God is calling you to be the one to talk to that person, but you’re not because you’re believing a lie about them?
That’s why the Bible tells us to be quick to listen and slow to speak.
Instead of reacting based on what you think you know, ask the Lord to show you the truth of the situation. There may be something deeper going on that you cannot see.
When you find the truth of a situation, it changes everything.
Here’s a challenge for you today:
Before you form an opinion, repeat something you heard, or respond to a situation, slow down. Ask the Lord, What is the truth here? Be quick to listen and slow to speak.

What a powerful Sunday at New Freedom Church! 🔥

What an incredible time in the presence of God! Pastor Joe brought a powerful message from the Word, challenging and encouraging us to grow deeper in our walk with the Lord.

But the message didn’t stop when the preaching ended! The time at the altar was a beautiful reminder that God is still moving, touching hearts, and changing lives. There’s nothing like seeing people respond to His presence and allowing Him to do a work in their lives.

We’re so thankful for what God is doing at New Freedom Church and expectant for all that is still to come!

Past What You Can See
Hebrews 11:1 NKJV Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Our natural ability is limited. There is so much more to the spiritual realm that totally surpasses and overcomes the natural realm.
The natural realm is so limited, yet our bodies and our old nature as humans think that’s the ultimate. How much more can God reveal to you if you’re willing to be free from your own natural limited ability? God knows what is on the other side. He’s already there.
If you are willing to truly surrender your life to God, put your own intellect, thought patterns, and perceptions on the altar, and allow Him to show you, then you begin to see things through His eyes—and that’s where revelation comes.
Faith gets you past what you can see. Your freedom may feel like it’s a long ways away, but it’s really just a faith statement and a surrender away.
With God, all things are possible.
Here’s a challenge for you today: Take one situation where you’ve been limited by what you can see or understand. Put your own reasoning on the altar and choose to trust that God already sees what is on the other side.
