What a joy-filled worship service as Pastor Paolo led Hallie UMC and Zion UMC in a combined service at Irvine Park on Father’s Day.

The beautiful sights and sounds of nature, combined with the sounds of prayer, praise, and singing filled the air.

Pastor Paolo and Pam Hotle led us in music. Readers for the day were Nick Goeman, Ben Goeman, Elmer Sharp and Illa Russell.

Thank you, Pastor Paolo for providing another meaningful worship service on Sunday. The sermon title was: “Seeing Through The Eyes Of Jesus”. Today’s scripture reading from Matthew 9:35–10:8 teaches us that God’s response to a broken world is deep compassion rather than condemnation. It instructs believers to pray for more people to share the gospel, and reminds us that those who follow Jesus are actively commissioned and empowered to bring healing and good news to others.

The clinic’s mission is to provide basic health care services and a connection to community resources for Chippewa County residents who are without a healthcare alternative. This morning, the Hallie UMC crafters, gathered to make July 4th tray favors for the Dove Healthcare - Rutledge Home and Aggies Country Living, as well as several of our church members. Unfortunately, I only had opportunity for one personal visit today. It is always a joy seeing the smiles these crafts provide for our friends. They always appreciate seeing a friendly face, so if you have time, consider paying them a visit. On Sunday, June 6, we were blessed having Pastor Pauline Bangle lead our worship, while Pastor Paolo was at the United Methodist Church Annual Conference.
The scripture reading from Matthew 9:9-13 and 18-26 reveals Jesus’s mission to redefine community, prioritize mercy, and conquer human brokenness. Through the calling of an outcast tax collector and breathtaking miracles of healing and resurrection, Jesus demonstrates that God’s grace is for the marginalized and powerless.
Pastor Pauline’s sermon title was “Change Is Difficult”. Many times in our day we can find ourselves heading in one direction only to be called to a totally different path. In today’s reading, Jesus was called upon by many people for help in their situations. Although change in plans or constant interruptions can be hard, we may need a new perspective in understanding the needs of others. Jesus never put people down or turned them away. If we follow Jesus leading, He will point us in the right direction. Everyone has a great need to be seen and heard. Jesus welcomes all to His table. We are called to do likewise.

As we gather for worship this Sunday, May 31, we will reflect on Jesus’ final words to His disciples in Matthew 28:16–20.

The Great Commission began with eleven disciples—not twelve. A group that was imperfect, uncertain, and still learning to trust. Yet Jesus entrusted His mission to them.

What if faith is not about having all the answers?

What if faith is simply taking the next step?

This Sunday, we will explore what it means to be faithful to Christ's mission in every season of life. We will discover that Jesus never said, "Go and build an organization" or "Go and attract a crowd." He said, "Go and make disciples."

Join us as we consider a simple but important question:

Are we still helping people follow Jesus?

This Sunday at Hallie, we explored the powerful story of Pentecost in Acts 2 and discovered that the Holy Spirit did not come to erase our differences — He came to redeem them.

Pentecost reminds us that unity is not uniformity.
Different languages. Different backgrounds. Different people.
One Spirit. One Gospel. One Savior.

In a world that keeps dividing over pride, power, politics, and personality, the Spirit of God still calls the Church to something greater:

humble enough to listen,
mature enough to love,
and Spirit-filled enough to stay united.

Babel divided through human pride.
Pentecost united through the power of the Holy Spirit.

May we be that kind of church.
“One body and one Spirit.” — Ephesians 4:4
