Hmong Christian Church (HCC) was founded in 1984 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Led by Dr. Timothy Vang, fewer than 10 Hmong families came together with the shared goal of growing in their Christian faith. They initially worshipped in partnership with the Church of Christ, reflecting a strong commitment to community and spiritual development. In 1987, Dr. Chong Chang Her was called to serve and lead HCC. Soon after, they held services at Landmark Christian Church, while praying and planning for a permanent space of their own. That vision became a reality in 2007 when HCC established its permanent home at 2749 70th Street in Eau Claire. In 2017, the church underwent a significant expansion, adding a larger chapel, Sunday School classrooms, a library and office space to support its growing ministries. Over the years, HCC has remained actively engaged in serving the Chippewa Valley. For nearly eight years, the church operated a food pantry to support families in need with fresh produce and non-perishable goods. Members have participated in local service projects, including the City of Eau Claire’s Amazing Clean-Up, and the youth group continues to volunteer annually at the Eau Claire Marathon. Today, under the current leadership of Lead Pastor Leepor Hang, HCC serves more than 160 members and continues to support and develop its ministries for men, women and youth—focusing on worship, fellowship and community service.
