🎨A Legacy in Living Color: The Wintrust Commemorative Mural
For 180 years, Old St. Patrick’s Church has been a place where faith takes root, friendships grow, traditions are passed down, and people come together to make a difference. Now, that story is coming to life in an exciting and new way!
The Wintrust Mural Building celebrates the extraordinary work of local nonprofits that strengthen Chicago’s neighborhoods and bring communities together. This year, Old St. Patrick’s Church has been selected to be featured, honoring our enduring legacy and the people who continue to shape our story.
Inspired by Old St. Pat’s rich Irish heritage, celebrated Celtic art, and magnificent stained-glass windows, the Wintrust Commemorative Mural captures the spirit of a community that has welcomed generations through its doors.
More than a work of art, this boldly colorful tribute celebrates the diverse faces, shared traditions, music, and faith that make Old St. Pat’s so special. It reflects our enduring commitment to living our faith, serving our neighbors, and sharing Christ’s love with the world.
This artwork brings a purposeful piece of Old St. Pat’s story into view for the city we call home. While our story began within the walls of our church, its impact has always reached far beyond them—touching and transforming lives for generations. Now, that legacy takes its place on the Wintrust Mural Building, where all of Chicago can see and celebrate it.
📆The mural will be installed November 3–4, 2026, and will be visible to drivers traveling both northbound and southbound on the Kennedy Expressway near the North Avenue exit from November 5, 2026, through January 5, 2027.
