Claretian Missionaries Archives USA-Canada

Claretian Missionaries Archives USA-Canada The archives serves as the repository of non-current records and restricts access to contemporary materials where the right to privacy must be preserved.

The Claretian Missionaries Archives is the official repository of all materials which pertain to the origin, history, development, and mission of the Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary USA. The purpose for maintaining the archives is to centralize, organize, preserve, protect, and make available these records to members of the province and scholars. The role of the archivist is to intellectually

control and make accessible this vast amount of material. The primary responsibility of the archives is to provide information to the provincial government, membership and various ministries under Claretian sponsorship. Secondarily, the archives is open to scholars and media who desire to use historical materials to document the Claretians’ rich missionary tradition in the context of the United States or global church. Through their use of archives, scholars contextualize Claretian contributions and assist in the promotion of St. Anthony Claret’s charism and mission throughout the world.
