‼️‼️Email from the House of Carpenter‼️‼️
Hello everyone,
As many of you know, severe flooding struck Lewis and Upshur counties in West Virginia overnight on Tuesday July 21st . The situation on the ground is critical. I have been in close contact with Isaac Casto, the Director of the UMC mission in Buckhannon, to assess their immediate needs.
Local grocery stores and the area Walmart are completely flooded, and widespread mudslides and high water have rendered many roads
impassable. Families and community members are suddenly left without basic necessities or access to essential supplies.
Because they are our sister project, we are stepping up immediately to support Isaac’s team and their neighbors. We are assembling a response team to drive down on Monday (7/27) or Tuesday (7/28) packed with crucial early cleanup and survival supplies, including:
-Cleanup Tools: Box fans, dehumidifiers, squeegees, flat-nosed
shovels, and heavy-duty disinfectant.
-Essential Living Supplies: Non-perishable food, laundry detergent,
diapers, and personal hygiene items.
These items are vital right now to help families stabilize their homes
and begin the tough work of muck-out and recovery.
The most effective way you can support this relief right now is
through a financial contribution so we can purchase these high-demand items in bulk before heading down:
-Online: Visit our donation page and select "Greatest Need"—100% of
these gifts over the next month will go directly to this flood relief
effort.
-By Check: Please write "Disaster Response" in the memo line.
Please share this email with your networks, churches, and friends.
Every bit of support helps us bring relief and hope to Buckhannon when they need it most.
If you have any questions about how to get involved, please don't
hesitate to reach out directly to me ([email protected] or 304-233-4640).
Thank you for your generosity and prayers,
Bill
