We’ve had a fantastic summer with our youth learning together and growing in our friendships.

BIG THINGS are coming up for the Youth this fall…

Sunday Nights will be Youth Nights!!

3:30-5:00pm - 📖 “What’s the Covenant All About?” for Middle School Girls and Boys Groups - They will be looking at how the Bible is telling one BIG story and how they fit into it.

5:00-5:30pm - 🍽 Dinner for Middle and High School Groups - The church will provide dinner for all Middle School and High School students, parents and leaders.

5:30-7:00pm - 💭 “Decisions, Decisions” for High School Co-Ed Group - They will explore how we can approach decision-making with wisdom, confidence, and peace, trusting in the God who is always in control.

All covenant partners are invited to our Covenant Partners Meeting.

Please join us after church on Sunday, September 13 for a Covenant Partners Meeting. The church will provide lunch.

We will be sharing some updates on things from our last meeting in June. We will also be planning some events looking toward the fall and the early winter.

🛒 If you are headed to the grocery store this weekend, please consider picking up a few extra items to donate to our food drive on September 6th for our “Blessed to Be a Blessing” Sunday!!

🥫 We will give all donated canned goods to Cupboards For Christ , a ministry of Great Bridge Baptist Church. If anyone would like to join us to drop them off, we will meet at 357 Johnstown Rd. on Thursday, September 10 at 10:30am

We are excited for the opportunity to partner with other local churches to be His hands and feet on this Earth.

Last week, we prayed for the students and staff of Great Bridge Middle School. We all enjoyed some ice cream and fellowship at Lolly’s afterwards.

Tomorrow, we will be gathering to pray over Great Bridge Intermediate and High School. We will be meeting at Great Bridge Intermediate School (253 Hanbury Rd., Chesapeake) at 6:30 PM. Please invite any students, parents or teachers from Great Bridge Intermediate or High School that may be interested in participating.

This is open to all ages.

If you are grabbing some last-minute school supplies this week, please consider buying a few extras for our school supply drive for Great Bridge Intermediate.

Great Bridge Intermediate serves students in grades 3-5 in our area. Their work is critical as they support all students learn and grow this school year.

An extra pack of #2 pencils, index cards, binders, folders, or notebooks help to ensure students and staff have the supplies they need. Additionally, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, ziplocks and facial tissues can go a long way in keeping students and teachers healthy.

Middle School Girls & Guys Groups conclude for the summer THIS SUNDAY! We will be back on September 13, 2026.

In the last few weeks, Pastor Dorothy and her family have taken time for some much needed and deserved rest. In their absence, our speakers spoke on the raising of Lazarus from the dead in John 11. On Sunday, August 9th, Peter DuMont and Elder Will Bailey, from Eternity Church, came to speak and reminded us that God is our present hope, not just our future hope. Last Sunday, Keith Hill, from St. Giles Church, shared a message about how Jesus frees us from fear of death through eternal life and deals with the “dead” in us before anything else.

We praise God for our incredible network of ECO churches and pastors. You continue to encourage us and share your knowledge and resources. Thank you Pastor Peter, Elder Will, and Pastor Keith for supporting rhythms of rest for our church leadership.

Last week, we prayed for the local businesses in our area. We prayed that God would bless their business and provide for their needs.

Tomorrow, we will be gathering to pray over Great Bridge Middle School. We will be meeting at Great Bridge Middle School at 6:30 PM. Please invite any students, parents or teachers that may be interested in participating.

The next week, on September 2, we will be praying for Great Bridge High School and Intermediate School.

This is open to all ages.

In two weeks, on Sunday, September 6, we will be having our “Blessed to Be a Blessing” Sunday!!! We will be blessing our students and our community.

Whether you are starting pre-K or heading to college/graduate school, bring your backpack to church!! During our service we will have a special blessing of the backpacks.

As a way of blessing our community, we will also be collecting food pantry donations for Cupboards for Christ as well as school supply donations for Great Bridge Intermediate School.

After service, we will serve a pizza lunch, so please be sure to stick around for some good food!!

Just a reminder that we do not have Middle School groups this Sunday, and we complete our summer Middle School groups on August 30.
