We can’t list everyone who goes to work, but today we’re thankful for a chance to recognize and reeemphasize the importance of rest!

In the book Rest is Resistance, Tricia Hersey says, “You were not just born to center your entire existence on work and labor.”

In the Gospel according to Mark, Jesus says, “The Sabbath was made to serve us…” (Mark 2:27 MSG).

Here’s a Labor Day reminder: Take a break before you break. Rest awhile. And Enjoy the life God gave you.

Community Baby Shower: Supporting First-Time Moms 💗💙

New Hope Baptist Church Women’s Ministry is excited to host a Community Baby Shower created especially to celebrate, encourage, and support first-time mothers in our community!

We believe every new mom deserves to feel loved, valued, supported, and surrounded by community as she begins the incredible journey of motherhood. This special event will provide first-time moms with encouragement, helpful resources, gift baskets for mom and baby, special giveaways, and an opportunity to connect with people who care.

Are you a first-time mom—or do you know one?

We want to hear from you! Scan the QR code on the flyer to complete the registration form. We also encourage you to share this event with an expecting or new first-time mother who could benefit.

Community Partners & Agencies

We’re inviting local organizations, agencies, and community partners who serve mothers and families to help us reach first-time moms throughout Hampton Roads. You can support this effort by referring eligible moms, sharing the event, or connecting us with organizations that serve new mothers.

This is more than a baby shower. It’s an opportunity to remind new moms that they do not have to begin this journey alone.

Together, we can surround first-time mothers with love, encouragement, resources, and community. 💕
