Dear Missionaries of the South Carolina Conference Branch WMS,
I wish to share that the YPD/WMS Quadrennial Convention will be held in Dallas, Texas on July 7-14, 2027. Therefore, it is time to start preparing for the Convention. Below please find the specific dates for your records:
YPD Quadrennial: July 7-9, 2027
Transition Day: July 10, 2027
WMS Quadrennial: July 11-14, 2027
At this time, we are expected to engage in preparations for the election of the SCCB WMS Delegation which will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 during the SCCB WMS Annual Business Meeting.
The voting members of the Quadrennial Convention shall consist of the elected delegates, elected Connectional Officers, past and present Episcopal Supervisors, past Connectional Presidents, Episcopal and Conference Presidents, Episcopal and Conference YPD Directors and Life Members.
The South Carolina Conference is entitled to five (5) elected delegates and at least two (2) alternate delegates to the Quadrennial. Alternates will be elected at the same time as the delegates. The alternate shall serve in the absence of delegates.
Please be reminded of the qualifications to be elected a delegate.
They consist of:
1) those who have been a member for four (4) or more consecutive years;
2) they shall be an active participant on their local level; and,
3) attended at least two (2) Annual Conference Meetings during this Quadrennial period.
For those who desire to be considered as a Quadrennial Delegate, the Nominating Profile will be shared to your respective areas by your Area WMS Chairpersons.
I am pleased to confirm that Sister Brenda Bennett has accepted the appointment to serve as the Quadrennial Nominating Committee Chairperson for the South Carolina Conference. The profile forms should be emailed before the July 15, 2026 deadline.
The Nominating Committee will vet the candidates prior to their names being placed on the ballot. If persons do not qualify, the committee will send the candidate a Non-qualifying Letter. The election of delegates will be held at the Annual WMS Business Meeting.
As you know, the work of the WMS is a calling so we are requesting those who earnestly desire to represent the conference in this capacity to consider serving as a delegate. We hope that you review the expectations and adhere to the deadline.
