Goodbye to my first neighbor I had when I moved to Charles City. Lots of love and prayers came from Mae. A lot of good memories. She would always give me a peck on the check when I would see her. "Don't tell anyone that I kissed a priest," she would tell me. The secret is now out Mae. 😃
Knowing she is now with her God and Savior she loved so much.

Mae Francis (Siglin) Rodamaker, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, at the age of 91, at the 9th Street Chautauqua Care Facility in Charles City, Iowa.

Mae was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and an active member of St. Theresa's Circle for many years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Reverend Tom Heathershaw officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the Mass at the church on Saturday.

Please join us for our 3rd annual Corpus Christi Procession on Sunday,June 7th after 10:30am mass. We will take the Blessed Sacrament around Charles City and bless various places in the city. It will be the same route we did last year. Following the procession back to the Church, we will then have a luncheon at the Columbus Club. Please join us.

One year ago today, the College of Cardinals elected Cardinal Robert Prevost as the 267th Successor of Peter. Taking the name Leo XIV, he became the first U.S.-born pope in the history of the Church. We give thanks for his ministry and continue to pray for our Holy Father.

Diane Mary (Laures) Brandt passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service for Diane Brandt will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City with Reverend Tom Heathershaw officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 9:30 a.m. until the start of the service at the church on Tuesday. Diane will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery following the service. Cremation has taken place in accordance with her wishes.

Duane Diller Hansen, 83, of Charles City, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, with his family at his side.

A funeral service for Duane Hansen will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City with Reverend Tom Heathershaw officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City. The family warmly invites you to a luncheon in Duane’s honor at the Immaculate Conception Social Hall following the burial.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026 at Hauser Weishaar Funeral Home in Charles City and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Saturday.
