Thanks to all who helped and joined us for our 3rd annual Corpus Christi procession. As Catholics, we believe Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist. This has been the Catholic Church’s belief for 2,000 years, since Jesus first founded the Catholic Church and Jesus appointed St. Peter as the first pope. As he says at the Last Supper, this is my body, this is my blood. We take Jesus at his word. We believe that Jesus actually made his way around Charles City and graced our community with his presence. He is awaiting you at the altar every time you come to Mass.

Joseph Edward Bouska, age 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 3, 2026, at 9th Street Chautauqua in Charles City.

A funeral service for Joe Bouska will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City with Reverend Tom Heathershaw officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City, beginning with a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.

I am feeling a little under the weather today, so Deacon Mike will do a Word/Communion Service at 5:15pm this evening. There will be no Confessions. I hope to be better enough tomorrow morning for Confessions, Mass, and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament for adoration until 2pm.
