📣 SUNDAY MORNING REMINDER!

There will be NO Sunday School or worship service at Marion Mennonite Church tomorrow, August 30.

Instead, we’ll be joining our friends from the Marion community churches for a combined outdoor worship service! 🌳⛪️

📍 Marion First United Methodist Church
94 Colorado Street, Marion
🕤 Worship begins at 10 AM
🪑 Bring a lawn chair! We’ll be worshiping outside under the big white tent.

Following the service, everyone is invited to stay for a fellowship meal indoors. 🍽️ Chicken will be provided—please bring a dish to share!

We’re looking forward to a special morning of worship, fellowship, and unity with our brothers and sisters in Christ. ❤️

Remember: there will be NO service held at Marion Mennonite tomorrow morning. We’ll see you under the big white tent in Marion! 🌳🙌

What a beautiful evening of fellowship! 💛

Our church picnic was filled with good food, lots of laughter, kids running and playing, games on the lawn, catching up with friends, and simply enjoying time together as a church family. 🥰

We are so thankful for everyone who came out, everyone who helped make the evening possible, and for the beautiful community God has given us here at Marion Mennonite Church.

There’s just something special about slowing down, sharing a meal, and enjoying one another’s company. ❤️

🌞 You’re Invited to Our Annual Church Picnic! 🌳

Join us on Saturday, August 22 for an afternoon and evening of food, fellowship, and fun at Norlo Park (Pavilion #2) in Fayetteville!

Whether you stay all day or just stop by for a while, we’d love to have you. Invite your family, friends, neighbors, and anyone else who would enjoy spending the day together!

🎉 Activities include:
• Scavenger Hunt
• Pickleball Tournament (bring your paddles if you have them!)
• Ultimate Frisbee after dinner
• Co****le
• Basketball, tennis, pickleball courts, walking trails, playgrounds, and more!

🍽️ Dinner begins at 5:30 PM
Kevin Eby will once again be serving his delicious pig roast! Pork roast, baked potatoes, rolls, drinks, and paper products will be provided.

• Two side dishes to share

• Crockpots are welcome—electrical outlets are available in the pavilion.

Our Senior Youth Group is heading to Harrisburg this week for their mission trip!

As they serve others and share the love of Christ, we invite our church family to keep them in prayer.

Please pray for safe travels, good health, meaningful opportunities to serve, and spiritual growth throughout the week. Pray also for the people they will meet and minister alongside.

Thank you for surrounding our youth and leaders with your prayers as they seek to serve one another humbly in love. ❤️

Service is one of the simplest ways we reflect the hands and feet of Jesus. We’re thankful for Logan giving his time this summer to help others and for Kent’s faithful example of leadership and service. What a blessing it is to see multiple generations using their gifts to help build our community! ❤️🔨

👏 Volunteer Appreciation: thank you, Logan Cordell!

Logan spends his summer breaks giving back, rolling up his sleeves on our build sites to help local families find home.

It runs in the family. Logan is the nephew of Kent, who leads the way on our construction sites, so good work is clearly a family trait.

Thank you, Logan, for spending your summers building something that lasts. 🔨

🎉 Wow!! What a week! 🎉

While the weather may have changed our plans for Community Fun Night, it certainly didn’t dampen the fun!

Although we had to forgo the bounce house and the much-anticipated dunk tank, we still enjoyed a wonderful evening together. A special thank you to Antietam Dairy for joining us and serving delicious ice cream to our community! 🍦

The face painting was a hit, and it was a joy to watch children spending time outdoors, using their imaginations, making friends, and simply being kids.

Throughout the week, our VBS families also raised money for Mercy Ships, an organization close to our hearts through our own Tasha Lentz, who volunteers with their ministry. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our children, families, and church community, we raised over $500 for Mercy Ships and counting! ❤️

Because of their amazing efforts, Pastor Dustin had to keep his promise! 😆 The kids were thrilled to shave his head and beard, and the best part? He’s keeping the new look through Sunday… including for his driver’s license photo tomorrow! 🚗✂️

As we wrap up this week, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to Lisa Tissue for the countless hours, dedication, and love she pours into making VBS such a special experience year after year. We are also incredibly thankful for our worship team, skit participants, station leaders, snack volunteers, motion leaders, group leaders, tech booth crew, and every volunteer who helped make this week possible.

Most importantly, thank you to the parents who entrusted us with your children and to the kids who filled our church with laughter, energy, excitement, and generous hearts all week long.

God has blessed us with an amazing church family, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you. ❤️
