The Porch is a young adult ministry that exists to gather individuals to support and challenge one another while centering our lives on Jesus Christ.

Life is so much better when you are in community with Jesus and others. We gather on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month!

🌻SEPTEMBER🌻 We still have a few more hot days ahead of us, but Fall is approaching. The Sunflowers are actually in full bloom this week near Marion due to the high number of hot days we had this Summer!
At our large gatherings this month, we will be sharing Core Points 2 & 3 of our newly updated Vision & Mission, we will be resuming our gender-specific small groups on 2nd & 4th Thursdays, and we have the opportunity to serve Once More Ministry after they took a brief hiatus in the Summer! 📦

🟥⚪️ The Serving Challenge Recap ⚪️🟥
Over the summer, we went through the Serving Challenge series by Zach Zehnder to go along with our Summer of Service projects. Here are five reminder points: one from each session (shout-out to the Greek word splagchnizomai for day 22! ) followed by some photos (and one video) taken over the course of the series!
Let us continue to be reminded that we are called to serve others because Jesus Christ served us first; and the five “A”s of Serving: Attitude, Availability, Action, Ability, and Ambition based on the Christ Hymn: Philippians 2:5-11

Here are some photos from our second Summer of Service projects last month in July! We served Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County by installing dry wall ceiling, insulated bathroom walls, and painting a shed for a couple in Saint Thomas. Be sure to scroll to the end for some encouraging Scripture we found written by the building team!

Our next Summer of Service project for this month is tomorrow Saturday, August 15th @ 9-11am serving NETwork Ministry!

🌤️ AUGUST 🌼 I don’t know if it feels this way for any of you, but Summer seems to be flying by!
We have a full month filled with teaching & discussion, campfires, and serving!

We will be wrapping up the Serving Challenge series this Thursday, a campfire this Friday (dm us if you need the address), our third & final Summer of Service project serving Network Ministries, and we are so excited to share about our newly updated Mission & Vision for The Porch at the end of the month (and next month)!

Here are some photos from our first Summer of Service projects last month in June! We served Little Daisy's Closet by dusting light fixtures inside and cleaning their outside storefront & Sweet Grace Ministries by weeding, planting, and mulching; check out slides 6-12 for some before & afters!

Our next Summer of Service project for July is this Saturday, July 18th @ 9am-12noon serving Habitat for Humanity of Franklin County!

☀️JULY☀️ It’s a scorcher for the first day of the month, but every day is a great gift from The Lord and a reason to praise Him!

We had our Annual Norlo Park Picnic last month to kick off summer!
It wasn’t the original evening we had planned, but it was the one that God had planned for us, and He had a beautiful one for us! ☀️

We had such a great time that not many photos were taken, but I think we managed to get almost everyone present in these four photos!
We enjoyed grilled burgers & hot dogs, sides & desserts, sand volleyball, and some got in a walk around the Park!

🌤️ JUNE is here! 😎
The weather is warming up, Colleges & Universities wrapped up semesters, vacations may be on your horizon!
Here is our schedule for the month:
We meet tonight to kick off our Summer large gathering teaching series: The Serving Challenge; we will have a “Summer of Service” serving opportunity once a month this summer to coincide with our series, a way to be God’s Hands & Feet in our local community!—this month’s anticipated date is Saturday, June 20th; and we officially wrap up both small group studies this month!

**Rescheduled Date!!
Our Annual Norlo Park Picnic that was rained out last week will be THIS Thursday, May 28th!
Still at 6:30PM, still providing hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks!
Bring a side or dessert, if you are able.
Spread the word, invite your friends, and we’ll see you there!
