A Father’s Day Prayer

God, our Father:
Bless these men,
that they may find strength as fathers.
Let the example of their faith
and love shine forth.
Grant that we, their sons and daughters,
may honor them always
with a spirit of profound respect.
Amen

A CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements is required, or applicants must be willing to obtain the necessary endorsements. If you are interested in the position but do not currently have a CDL, St. Patrick School is willing to cover the cost of the required training and endorsements.

This is a great opportunity to serve our school community and make a positive impact on the lives of our students.

WALK WITH ST. PAT’S IN THE STURGIS FALLS
PARADE ON SATURDAY, JUNE 27!
OUR STAGING AREA FOR WALKERS
WILL BE THE CORNER OF 7TH AND MAIN
IN FRONT OF THE CHURCH OFFICES.

St. Patrick Church will have a walking entry in the Sturgis Falls Parade, which
will be on Saturday, June 27. This year’s theme is, “The Golden Ticket,” marking
the 50th year of the Sturgis Falls Celebration. Please wear a St. Patrick shirt
(or a kelly green shirt). For those who would rather watch the parade, we’ll have space along Main Street in front of the church parking lots for your lawn chairs and blankets.

We have a very convenient staging location for our walkers this year – right at the corner of 7th and Main St.! How great is that? Whether you’re going to walk in the parade or watch from St. Patrick’s, you may park in either of the church parking lots. Come early with the kids to get a green or gold balloon, a big Golden Ticket to carry, or a bag of candy to pass out to parade watchers!

For those who can't walk the route but would like to be part of the parade, Dave Guetterman will be pulling a hayrack with room for about a couple dozen parishioners, plus there will be a few seats in a couple of vehicles.

We'll need a few parents to help inflate helium balloons for the little ones on parade morning.

Please plan on arriving by 9:30 AM --- the parade starts at 10 AM. If you have any questions, please contact the church office.

Just thought I would share this post from Chris Stefanick to help brighten a rainy day in Iowa! 😀

Evangelization in 3 words.

I was honored to speak at one of the largest gatherings of Catholics in the Pacific Northwest in over a century—a Eucharistic Congress in the greater Seattle area. For those who know the area well, there are some great things happening in the Church, but the broader culture is one of the least Church-friendly in the country. I’ve met many Catholic parents from there who did their best to raise their children in the Faith, only to have the culture, and their kids’ peers, not only turn them into “non-Catholics,” but virulent “anti-Catholics.” Of course that’s not always the case…but it’s far too common to ignore the trend.

During the congress there was a Eucharistic procession. We brought Jesus into the streets, followed by over 3,000 of his closest friends. :) Incense and songs rose to heaven in the midst of a modern, VERY secularized space. Thankfully, for the most part, people we passed looked dumbstruck, a little confused, and reverent, all at the same time. They didn’t know what they were seeing, but they knew it was holy. It was beautiful…but I really wasn’t sure it would be!

And it struck me: a Eucharistic procession sums up all of evangelization in the most tangible terms, doesn’t it? We’re all just part of the crowd that’s been walking behind Him for 2,000 years, and even when we might encounter hostility from a culture that doesn’t want Him…we keep walking…and our response is simply, “I’m with Him.”

When I love and serve, I want the world to know it’s because “I’m with Him.”

When I’m faithful to my Church and family even when it’s hard, it’s because “I’m with Him.”

And when I find myself in a culture that’s forgotten God…and I’m pressured to compromise, or find myself canceled, “I’m still with him.”

Remembering how he puts himself out there gives me courage to do the same.

…Lord Jesus, we’re with you…
