As our team of Allen Nursing students begins wrapping up their time serving in Guatemala with Adonai International Ministries, one theme keeps showing up in their stories:

"Through teaching, playing with kids, caring for patients, and praying with families, we were reminded that sharing God's love can take many forms and that every interaction is an opportunity to demonstrate His compassion and grace.

One particularly impactful experience was witnessing prayers over patients who may not have been receiving good news about their health or the health of their children. Seeing healthcare combined with compassionate prayer was a powerful reminder that while we can provide medical care, God provides comfort, strength, and hope. It was humbling to stand alongside families during vulnerable moments and trust God to work in their lives."

As they begin the journey home, join us in praying for safe travels and for the people and families they've had the opportunity to serve. ❤️

Most of us treat anxiety like something to hide, numb, or ignore. 😣

But what if it’s actually trying to tell you something?

Sometimes anxiety is the blinking check-engine light on the dashboard—revealing overload, exhaustion, fear, grief, or places where life has drifted out of alignment. 🚨

The goal isn’t shame. It’s honesty. It's being honest about what's going on 'under the hood'.

“What am I believing?”

Because anxiety may be loud… but it doesn’t have to lead your life.

What if anxiety isn’t just about stress… but about trying to carry things you were never meant to control?

So many of us are exhausted from holding everything together - our future, our family, our finances, our image. But Jesus offers a different way.

Following Jesus doesn't mean pretending you're okay. He actually invites us to entrust our burdens to God and help each other carry them. 🤗

Here is a quick update from our team serving with Adonai International Ministries in Guatemala:

"This week has been full of learning, serving, and seeing God at work in real ways.

Our team spent time at a local school sharing a simple but powerful truth with kids: God loves you all the time, no matter what. Through songs, games, and conversations, we got to remind students that God’s love never changes. In clinic the team has been helping care for patients, supporting the medical team, and building relationships. A few of our Allen students also joined a home visit for a widow, where they were able to pray with her, encourage her, and see firsthand what compassionate ministry can look like outside the walls of the clinic.

We are also hosting VBS for the missionary kids, where we are learning about how God transforms us - just like He transformed Saul into Paul. The kids made butterfly crafts while learning how God changes hearts and lives when we trust Him.

One of the biggest gifts this week has been hearing stories of God’s faithfulness through the missionaries serving here every day. We’re grateful for everything we’re learning and experiencing together.

Thanks for praying for our team—we can feel it. We’re excited to keep serving and seeing what God continues to do this week."

"Our team of Allen College Nursing Students is heading out to Canilla, Guatemala on Sunday morning. We will be coming alongside the missionaries and nursing staff of Adonai International Ministries to assist in clinic and local schools. We are excited to spend time with the missionary kids through VBS and are looking forward to a 'spa night' for the women in the ministry. Each year this team of Allen College students have hosted an ice cream social for the missionaries - just as a way to say "thank you" to the ministry and show our appreciation in a small way.

As a team we hope to listen with intention, learn with humility, and approach every encounter with an open mind and a faithful heart. We want to be guided by wisdom, compassion, and above all, love.

As our team prepares for the upcoming mission trip, we request your prayers! Pray for the students, the Adonai missionaries, and the patients we will have the privilege to serve in clinic. Additionally, please pray for a spirit of unity and cohesiveness, so that our team may support one another with grace and purpose."

What if spiritual maturity isn’t mostly about being more right…
but becoming more loving? 💗

Not softer on truth.
Not pretending evil doesn’t exist.
But becoming the kind of person who sounds, acts, and responds more like Jesus.

Patient instead of harsh.
Kind instead of cynical.
Hopeful instead of constantly angry.

Because when a life is truly rooted in Jesus, it changes the fruit.

You can be loud about your faith… and still completely miss the heart of Jesus. 💟Jesus said love would be the difference...

It isn’t compromising truth.
And it doesn’t make you less holy.

In fact, the more you become like Jesus, the more merciful you become.

And if Jesus showed mercy to us first, we can do the same for others.
