A big thank you to everyone who donated to the Advance youth group and Immanuel Mission in Navajo Nation!

We created this fun video chronicling our journey on April 18th for the Snow Canyon Service Scramble. It was a day of hard work and lots of laughs. Enjoy seeing how the donations triggered the "Spin of Surprises" and watch to see if we accomplished our mission!

Day 6 of the Navajo Nation Mission Trip: We made it back safely! We took a little detour to visit Monument Valley on the way back. The views were breathtaking! We all return with full hearts. We will enjoy telling our families and church what we learned. We are grateful for Immanuel Mission and their gracious hospitality… especially Junior, Raefer, and their families. We enjoyed making new friends among our brothers and sisters in Christ. It was a privilege to go, serve, and see the gospel advance in a culture very different from our own.

Day 5 of the Navajo Nation Mission Trip: We are all sad that this is the last full day of our trip. However, it was full of ministry opportunities. We helped some ladies by leveling sand, installing mesh shade, and cutting wood for their shade house. Some of us found little friends among the sandy shrubs. Then, we headed back for lunch and were surprised by the Begaye family making us fry bread. They introduced us to fried Spam and onions on fry bread… and it was amazing! We finished dismantling the siding on the shed, rested up, and headed to our last VBS. It was another beautiful night, and we had a little more time for fellowship and fun afterward. We all agreed that we have learned a lot, especially when we witnessed how much this community serves one another and ministers the love of Christ. We rejoice in the things we have learned during our time here.

Day 4 of the Navajo Nation Mission Trip: We went back to the sheep corral to build up some spots that had eroded over time. Lots and lots of dirt! The sheep and goats were let back in, enjoyed their repaired home, and no one escaped (to my knowledge). They seemed appreciative. We then started dismantling a storage shed at the mission for a project later on this summer. This evening, we had our second evening of VBS and enjoyed the fellowship. Eli taught our lesson tonight on Jesus, the living water. We are enjoying the ministry opportunities and the relationships we are making! We are also enjoying the natural beauty of the area, especially seeing the wild horses!

Day 3 of the Navajo Nation mission trip: We rejoiced with the Hosteen family with the birth of a baby girl (Junior Hosteen coordinated with us to make this trip happen)! We spent the morning and early afternoon ministering to some new friends in the community… cleaning out a horse corral and extensive repairs on a sheep corral. Then, this evening, we held a Vacation Bible School at a local home. It was a physically exhausting, yet rewarding day! Everyone has a great attitude and did a great job spending and being spent!

Day 2 of our Navajo Nation Mission Trip: Our team had the privilege of worshiping at Immanuel Navajo Chapel this morning with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We especially loved the parts that were sung and spoken in Navajo! After lunch, Junior Hosteen took us on a beautiful hike on his family’s land, settled by his grandparents, giving us some rich history along the way. In the evening, we had some of our new friends over for games at the gym. We are encouraged and excited for our service projects and VBS tomorrow!

We still have 3 more coming later, but we made it to Immanuel Mission!
