Gracious and compassionate God,
We acknowledge that our lives have not always reflected the example of Jesus Christ. Too often, our love has been conditional, our judgements have been
hasty, and our forgiveness has been slow.
Forgive us when we overlook those who are hurting,
fail to welcome the stranger, create division, or remain silent when justice is needed.

Fill us with your Holy Spirit. Help us to live with hope, remain faithful in prayer, pursue peace, and respond to evil with goodness. Transform our hearts by your grace, so that others may see the love of Christ in all we say and do. Amen.
