Wow!!!
What an incredible back to school clothing/school supply giveaway event!
Because of the generous support of our community we “adopted” 14 children and provided clothing and school supplies to 27 additional children tonight.
We are thankful for our volunteers that have tirelessly sorted, hung, and organized all of the donations over the past 2 weeks then helped hand everything out tonight.
We also are grateful for Schonowe Volunteer Fire Company for their incredible donation of personal care items to send our kids back to school feeling fresh & clean.
To say our hearts are full……….

Because there have been so many organizations offering back to school supplies, our school supplies will be limited this year and we will phase this portion of our back to school giveaway out next year. The Carpenter Shop Outreach Center relies solely on donations from our community and we lost our biggest donor to one of the other organizations. It’s unfortunate for us, but it’s excellent for our community that so many programs are available. We don’t want to tax our resources by duplicating efforts so we will concentrate on what we do best—-getting much needed back to school clothing and shoes into the hands of those that need them. Sharing for our friends in Greenville. It’s so wonderful to see other organizations getting involved!

Beginning this Thursday, August 13th, our Asbury UMC Youth Group will be handing out free school supplies to those in need!

Come to the Powell Store Thrift Shop from 4pm - 6pm and we will make sure you get what you need to start the new school year off right!

If you can't make it this Thursday, we will be distributing more school supplies on Thursday August 20th and Thursday August 27th.

Thank you to the congregation and thrift shop for their donations to support this ministry.
