We welcomed our new members, Christine and Sherry!

Their responses to the question about why they wanted to join St. Andrew affirmed our values of welcoming and caring for one another. Sherry said she is ready to commit herself to this loving church, and Christine shared that our warm welcome and care made her fall in love with us!

What a joyful and beautiful day it was! With many blessings and prayers, Mary and Anna were baptized. All church family promised to raise them with love and care as they become disciples of Jesus Christ. They will follow their parents' faithful footsteps to love God and love our neighbors!

What is the culture of St. Andrew UMC? A church’s culture is like the personality of a church and can be felt in the church’s atmosphere and environment. Culture is largely influenced by church leaders and pastor, but is also influenced by mission, values, behaviors, goals, and ethics. Your church council is learning more about the importance of Church Culture. Many of us attended Part 1 of our district’s leadership training, Prairie Central District, and will be finishing the training on May 3rd.

One thing we learned is that it is a good idea to checkup on church culture periodically. It can be especially helpful at the time of a pastoral change. While some may say, “Just let the church leaders figure it out,” your church council thinks that it is vital to have the thoughts of the congregation as well. So, we are asking you to participate in a survey relating to the Culture of St. Andrew UMC.

The survey is short but meaningful. There will be no names asked for. You will be able to complete the survey online (https://forms.gle/CXoXBsNRhLmcFNZ67) or at church with paper and pencil. If you would like to have the survey mailed to you, we can do that. Just call Margie, 630-653-7116, on Tuesday or Wednesday, 10:00 to 2:00, at the church office.
