Next Gen News 🗞️

Another great week with our LHC students and kids! November is our last month of the fall semester before we take off in December, so if you have or know any ages 3 to 12th grade, we would love to see them.

LHC Students meet from 6:30PM-8PM on Sundays in our Terrace location.
Kids Clubs are on Wednesdays from 6:30PM-7:45PM in our Pomfret location.

We also have Student Sunday coming this weekend where the Next Gen will serve and perform a song in our main worship gathering!

Several people from Life House and Family Life Worship Center are heading to Casa Shalom in Guatemala at the end of January. While there, the team will be repairing two roofs, spending time with the children, and helping with other projects around the ministry.

Together with several other churches, we set out to raise $27,000 for the roof project. This past Sunday, we got to share some incredible news: Life House alone has raised the entire $27,000! 🙌

To God be all the glory! What an incredible reminder of what God can do through the generosity and obedience of His people.

If you’d still like to give toward Casa Shalom, additional donations will go toward other needs at the ministry. Thank you for your generosity, your obedience, and your continued prayers for this team as they prepare for their trip and for the children, staff, and ministry of Casa Shalom.

Someone wrongs you. Everything in you wants to match it.
But Jesus had a different math.

"We don't respond evil with evil. We respond with light — excessive amounts of light. Because when you light it up, it exposes what's going on."

Not a flicker. Not just enough to get by. Disproportionate.

"You want to expose evil for what it is? Turn up the light. Turn up the good."

Pastor Kipp opened Matthew 5 this week on what it actually looks like to overcome evil with good and why it's the healthiest thing you can do for your own heart.

"The Bible is still relevant to whatever is on your calendar today."

We spend a lot of time thinking about what we have to get done today. The meetings, the errands, the conversations, the decisions, the million little things that somehow fill up a day.

But do we ever stop to think about what God’s Word has to say about all of it?

Because the Bible isn’t just for Sunday mornings or when life falls apart. It has something to say about how we handle stress, how we treat people, how we make decisions, and how we respond when things don’t go our way.

God’s Word belongs in the middle of our everyday lives, not just the moments when we’re looking for an answer.

So when you open your Bible today, think about what you’re walking into. Is there something you need wisdom for? A situation where you need more patience? A reminder of what’s actually important?

Don’t just read your Bible and check it off the list. Let what you read change how you show up in your day.

So, whatever you’ve got going on today, invite God’s Word into it.

Sunday Summary 📸

Just like the sun began shining down on our chilly morning, we’re called to shine a disproportionate amount of light in the world! Each week we’re so blessed by all who enter in and watch online. Our prayers are with you as you go about your week shining for Him.

Reminder: LHC Students are meeting tonight. They’re encouraging “alphabet costumes” which just means dress as something that starts with the first letter of their name. If they don’t have anything, that’s okay. They’re still welcome!

Next Gen News 🗞️

There’s something special about seeing the next generation grow in their faith, build friendships, and take their next steps with Jesus.

This Sunday, our Students are invited to “dress as something that starts with the first letter of their name”, and next Wednesday, we’ll have a special fall prize night at Kids Clubs!

That’s why instead of just one night’s session, we’re hosting 7 more! Every 2nd Wednesday of the month, we’re offering a Parent Builder Night at Pomfret at 6:30PM in November-May.

Talk About it Tuessday

The person ahead of you in line.
The coworker at the next desk.
The neighbor you wave to and nothing more.

You're not there by accident.

Pastor Kipp taught that "every intersection that we hit, every human intersection that we make — when we bump into somebody that doesn't know Jesus, you're there for a reason. You're there to let them know about Jesus."

Not every intersection calls for the same thing. Sometimes you go. Sometimes you slow your roll. And once in a while, you stop.

Pastor Kipp opened Matthew 7 this week on how to read the people God puts in front of you — and what to do when you get there.
