In the story, the younger son leaves home and squanders everything, while the older brother stays and does everything right outwardly—but misses his father’s joy and heart.

It's possible to do all the right things externally while something is missing internally. We can be busy with responsibilities, faithful in our activities, and still miss the Father's heart.

God isn't looking for mere obedience or religious duty. He wants a relationship with you. He wants your heart. Could you be in the field but missing the feast?
