Good morning from colorful Colorado! Even though we are on vacation, and even though there are no mid-week Bible studies in September, I thought I'd share this video. Have a great Wednesday!

Another thought from my devotional this morning.

“Many believers pray sincerely, but after prayer, they return to the same anxious thought patterns. They pray about fear, then meditate on worst-case scenarios. They pray for peace, then feed their minds with constant negativity. They ask God to help them, then rehearse lies, suspicions, comparisons, and imaginations that are not true, pure, lovely, or praiseworthy.

Paul shows us that prayer is essential, but it is not the end of the journey. After prayer, our minds must be trained. Our thoughts must be governed. Our meditation must be redirected.

Isaiah says, “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3). Perfect peace is connected to a stayed mind. A stayed mind is not a mind that never gets attacked. It is a mind that keeps returning to God as its center.”

If you are interested in the full devotional, I'm reading the plan 'The Weapon of Peace: Battling Anxiety in Our Generation by Patrick Omukhango'. Check it out here:

Anxiety is one of the defining battles of our generation, but Scripture reveals peace as more than a gentle feeling or the absence of trouble. God’s peace guards, commands, governs, crushes, and establishes His Kingdom within His people. This five-day devotional explores peace as a spiritual weapo...

Over the last month, as we've added the rotation of reciting the Lord's Prayer with the Apostle's and the Nicene Creed, several questions have been asked.

In the comments I'll address the 2 questions I have heard the most: 1) What does it mean that Jesus descended into hell? 2) I'm familiar with the Apostle's Creed, but what is the Nicene Creed?

Check out the comments for my thoughts. Pastor JD

Here’s a thought from my devotional this morning, “Anxiety often thrives where the enemy whispers lies. He whispers that God has forgotten you. He whispers that disaster is inevitable. He whispers that your future is unsafe. He whispers that you are alone, unprotected, and without help. But the God of peace does not merely comfort you while lies continue unchecked. He crushes the work of the enemy.”

Pastor Anthony and Miss Julie are both under the weather so the teen Bible study tonight has been canceled. The adults will be in Ezekiel chapter 1 when we meet tonight.
