A Call to Prayer from a Antonio Sims, our Central District Supervisor:
“The latest events with Charlie Kirk, Iryna Zarutska, and the grievous wounds of high school students from senseless violence in the Denver area linger in our hearts and minds. In moments like these, we are reminded of the fragility of life and the heavy burden of sorrow many bear.
As followers of Christ, let us respond not with anger or despair, but with faith and intentional prayer. This is the time to fight the only fight we truly know how to fight, which is the good fight of faith.
“Fight the good fight of faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”
1 Timothy 6:12 NASB
Stand firm in prayer, extend mercy to those in pain, seek truth and justice with grace, and support one another with undeniable hope in God’s promises. If you feel strongly to speak up, pray first.
May we be instruments of healing, courage, and reconciliation, reflecting Christ’s love even in the darkest of moments. We are making prayer our priority and putting it on repeat. May the Holy Spirit lead us in truth and guide our actions so our Father, who is in Heaven, will be glorified.”
- Antonio Sims, Central District Supervisor
Heavenly Father,
In the midst of grief, confusion, and anger, we turn our eyes to You. Lord, You are close to the brokenhearted. We bring before You the families who are wounded by violence and the communities shaken by fear.
Give us the courage to stand firm in faith, the humility to listen before we speak, and the wisdom to seek Your truth above all else.
Lord, use us as instruments of peace. We confess that our world desperately needs Your kingdom to come and Your will to be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Lead us, Holy Spirit, and let the name of Jesus be glorified through our unity, our mercy, and our unwavering trust in You.
