Christ has ascended! St. Leo the Great reminds us that Christ's ascension is for the strengthening of our faith: that what the apostles struggled to grasp when Christ was with them bodily, they understood more fully at His ascension; that Christ never departed from the Father when He dwelt among us in the body, and He has not departed from us now that we no longer see Him with our bodily eyes. Now, the eyes of our soul grow stronger.

Let us rejoice and desire the peace that the Lord so rejoices to bestow join us, His children.
