Yesterday an incredible man went to be with Jesus. Eric was not only a friend to me, but a mentor and a steady guiding light for Encounter Church. I had the privilege of knowing him for nearly six years, and in that time my life has been deeply marked by his love, wisdom, and quiet strength.

I can say with deep gratitude that my family and I would not be ministering in America today without Eric’s involvement. He believed in us, encouraged us, and helped open doors that shaped our calling in ways we will never forget.

I will always cherish the way he made me feel truly seen, truly known, and truly valued. He carried that grace so naturally, and I know our Encounter Church family feels the same. That kind of gift leaves a legacy that cannot be measured, and its impact will continue in every life he touched.

Our hearts and prayers are with the Daniel family and the Hillside Church family. We grieve with you and stand with you. May you feel the nearness of God, the comfort of His presence, and the strength of cherished memories. As Revelation 21:4 promises, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

We hold fast to that hope.

We celebrate a life well lived and a love generously given. Eric’s impact on my life will continue in the way he taught me to love boldly, see people deeply, and follow Jesus faithfully.

Through the history of the Church, fasting was considered just as central as reading the Bible or gathering weekly to Jesus’ followers. Fasting is one of the best disciplines we have to reintegrate our mind to our body and offer our whole selves to God in surrender. When God’s people fast and pray, miracles happen.

Fasting is both a discipline and a doorway: a discipline that trains us in surrender and a doorway through which God often releases breakthrough, healing, and transformation.

If you are hungry for the Spirit’s presence and guidance as you step into 2026 then join us to consecrate this week in prayer and fasting. Let us offer our whole selves to Jesus and watch Him meet us in new ways.

We will pray together from 6pm-7pm on Tuesday and Friday night, breaking our fast with a soup potluck on Friday night. Sign up to bring soup or bread 🙏🏼
