At the beginning of the year we made a subtle (but meaningful) change to our church logo ... by adding the presence of the sun. We used it as a reminder through the year that while changes were coming—it was every person's responsibility to be praying for the one God has chosen to lead us into the future. In a very real sense, the sun was our prayer-prompt ... that God would be preparing that special person that He'd already been preparing to lead us.

As always, God is faithful. He listened. And we are about to welcome our new pastor very soon. We are so very thankful for the goodness of God.

During these next weeks of transition I'm reminded of how God spoke of our human tendency to look back at things we think we're losing. But in fact, we aren't losing at all—and further—we have everything to gain.

God says ...

"Don’t revel only in the past, or spend all your time recounting the victories of days gone by. Watch closely: I am preparing something new; it’s happening now, even as I speak, and you’re about to see it. I am preparing a way through the desert; waters will flow where there had been none."
