We were so honored for the opportunity to make such a connection with the JCA and Chinese & American Friendship Association of Maine (CAFAM).

We look forward to the next opportunity to further grow these connections and friendships. The Khmer folks at Watt Samaki Temple stand with the great work that Zach and the JCA are doing.

We want to, also, extent our gratitude and thank Khmer Maine 's Executive Director (Marpheen Chann) who initially introduced us all when he and Zach created the first gathering opportunity for the Jewish-Asian Friendship Dinner, back in August! 👏🏽❤️🪷✨️

Maine’s Jewish & Asian communities are growing closer 🙏

Recently, a small group of JCA leaders met with Asian community leaders (representing the Filipino-American Samahan of Maine, Chinese-American Friendship Association, and Watt Samaki Buddhist Temple) to discuss ways we could continue to build community, and fight antisemitism and anti-Asian hate, together.

We left with plans for not just one event, but THREE over the next year! We are so excited to announce them over the next few months—make sure you are subscribed to our weekly newsletter to hear about them first!

We are grateful to build community with our Asian allies, and for our organizations to stand together. These efforts are part of the bridge-building work being led by our JCRC Director Zach Schwartz, and JCRC Chair Mandy Levine.
