❤️ F.R.A.N. Sunday at Community Methodist Church! ❤️

What a wonderful Sunday of faith, fellowship, and friendship! Today’s worship centered on God’s faithfulness, beginning with “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” and Scripture from Lamentations 3:19–33, reminding us that the Lord’s mercies are new every morning.

Pastor Kevin Morris shared today’s message, “God is Faithful! Are You?”, based on Romans 3:1–20. Keith shared our Scripture reading, Mary Ann led Children’s Time, and our choir blessed us with special music before we closed together with “How Great Thou Art.” 🙏🎶

Today was also F.R.A.N. Sunday, and we were blessed to welcome friends, relatives, associates, and neighbors into our church family. Following worship, we continued the fellowship with food, conversation, and time together. 🍽️❤️

May we leave today remembering that even when we fall short, God remains faithful. His love and mercy never cease. 🙏

⛪ Community Methodist Church

August 16, 2026 | 11:00 AM

What a joyful Sunday morning at Community Methodist Church! Today we gathered together to worship, pray, fellowship, and celebrate the joy that comes from having Jesus Christ in our lives. Our service was beautifully reflected in the words of Psalm 118:24: “This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

The service began with the Chiming of the Hour, Bringing of the Light of Christ, and Prelude, followed by the Welcome and Invocation. Our opening hymn was “Since Jesus Came into My Heart” ( #614), reminding us of the joy and transformation that come through a relationship with Christ.

Following announcements, joys and concerns, the Pastoral Prayer, and the Lord’s Prayer, Keith shared our Scripture Reading from 1 John 3:11–24. The passage reminded us that as followers of Christ, we are called to genuinely love one another—not only through our words, but through our actions and the way we care for those around us.

Donna led our Children’s Time, reminding our children that they are welcomed, loved, and an important part of our worshiping church family. We then continued our worship through the Offering, Offertory, Doxology, and Prayer of Thanksgiving. Our Choir blessed the congregation with Special Music.

Today’s sermon, “Joy,” was delivered by Mary Ann Lunsford and centered on John 15:9–11. The message reminded us that true Christian joy comes from remaining in the love of Jesus. Christ desires His joy to live within us and for that joy to be complete. Even when our circumstances are difficult, our relationship with Christ gives us a source of joy, hope, and peace that reaches beyond temporary happiness.

The message also connected beautifully with our reading from 1 John. When the love of Christ lives within us, others should be able to see it through the way we treat them. We are called to love, encourage, serve, and care for one another. The joy we receive from Christ is something we can carry into our families, workplaces, church, and community.

Today’s flowers were presented by Mary Ann Lunsford in honor of Jesus the Christ. 🌸

The service concluded with “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee” ( #310), followed by the Choral Benediction by the Choir and the Postlude.

We are thankful for everyone involved in the life and ministry of Community Methodist Church, including Pastor Kevin Morris, Minister Keith Darius, Minister of Music Beth Barbee, accompanists Gail, David, Keith, and Gerald, Mary Ann Lunsford, Donna, and our Choir.

We continue to keep those on our prayer list close in our hearts: Michael Eakes, the family of Mildred Jones, Norma Roberts, Wayne and Laura Oakley, Danielle Ferrell, Scott Wolfe, Ben Carter, Lee Pittard, and Bonnie Lively. May God provide comfort, healing, strength, and peace to each of them and their families. 🙏

As we leave worship today, may we carry the message of JOY with us. May we remain in Christ's love, show that love through our actions, and remember that every new day is another gift from God.

⛪ Community Methodist Church

August 9, 2026 | 11:00 AM

Today, our church family gathered at Community Methodist Church for a meaningful morning of worship centered on humility, repentance, and God's righteous judgment. Our guiding reminder was 2 Chronicles 7:14, calling God's people to humble themselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from their ways.

The service began with the Chiming of the Hour, Bringing of the Light of Christ, and Prelude, followed by the Welcome and Invocation. Together, we opened our worship by singing “Rescue the Perishing” ( #480). We then shared announcements, joys and concerns, the Pastoral Prayer, and the Lord's Prayer.

Keith led today's Scripture Reading from Matthew 7:1–5, where Jesus teaches us to be careful about judging others. Before focusing on another person's faults, Christ calls us to examine our own hearts and lives.

Donna then led Children's Time, reminding our children that they are welcomed, loved, and an important part of the worshiping church family.

Following the Offering, Offertory, Doxology, and Prayer of Thanksgiving, we were blessed with Special Music by the Choir.

✝️ “God’s Righteous Judgment”

Pastor Kevin Morris delivered today's sermon, “God’s Righteous Judgment,” based on Romans 2:1–11. The message connected powerfully with the earlier reading from Matthew. We are reminded that it is easy to recognize shortcomings in someone else while overlooking our own. God's judgment, however, is based on truth, and God does not show favoritism.
Romans also reminds us of God's extraordinary kindness, patience, and forbearance. His kindness should lead us toward repentance. Rather than spending our lives condemning others, we should first examine ourselves, seek God forgiveness, and strive to live faithfully.

God's standard applies to everyone, reminding us of our need for His grace.
The service concluded with “Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee” ( #386), followed by the Choral Benediction by the Choir and Postlude.

🌸 Celebrations & Our Church Family

Today's flowers were presented by Donna Carpenter in celebration of Gerald's birthday. We wish Gerald a very Happy Birthday and pray God's continued blessings over him! 🎂

We also recognize those who help lead the ministry of Community Methodist Church: Pastor Kevin Morris, Lay Leader Keith Darius, Minister of Music Beth Barbee, and accompanists Gail, David, Keith, and Gerald, along with our faithful Choir.

We continue to remember those listed in our church prayers: Wayne and Laura Oakley, the family of Nancy Tackett, Pat Weaver, Danielle Ferrell, Sara Robbinson, Scott Wolfe, Ben Carter, Lee Pittard, and Bonnie Lively. May God surround each of them with His comfort, strength, healing, and peace. 🙏

Looking ahead, FRAN Sunday will be August 30—an opportunity to bring a Friend, Relative, and Neighbor—with the Stem 5th Sunday Bluegrass service at 6:00 PM. Sunday School begins September 7 at 9:30 AM, followed by Stem Homecoming at 11:00 AM; there will be no service at Community that day.

As we go into this new week, may today's message stay in our hearts: before judging another person, examine ourselves; receive God's grace with humility; allow His kindness to lead us toward repentance; and extend that same grace to others.

Community Methodist Church

Sunday Worship - July 26, 2026

What a wonderful morning of worship and fellowship at Community Methodist Church! We gathered together to glorify God through prayer, Scripture, music, and the preaching of His Word.

The service began with the Chiming of the Hour, Bringing of the Light of Christ, and the Prelude, preparing our hearts for worship. We were welcomed into God's presence through the Welcome and Invocation, followed by the opening hymn, "I Love to Tell the Story" ( #581).

We shared church announcements, celebrated our joys, lifted our concerns, and joined together in the Pastoral Prayer and The Lord's Prayer.

A special thank you to Keith, who read today's Old Testament Scripture from Habakkuk 2:2–5, reminding us that God's vision is for His perfect timing and that "the righteous shall live by his faith." We also appreciate Ingrid, who led our Children's Time, reminding our youngest disciples that they belong in worship through God's Word, prayer, song, and the Bread and Cup.

Following the offering, doxology, and prayer of thanksgiving, we were blessed by a beautiful special musical selection from the Choir, preparing our hearts for the message.

Pastor Kevin Morris delivered an inspiring sermon titled "The Righteous Shall Live by Faith," based on Romans 1:1–17. His message reminded us that the Gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. Faith is more than believing when life is easy—it is trusting God even when we cannot see what lies ahead. Just as Habakkuk was called to wait on God's perfect timing, we are called to remain faithful, confident that God always fulfills His promises. Pastor Kevin encouraged us to live boldly for Christ, never being ashamed of the Gospel, and to allow our faith to guide our daily lives.

The service concluded with the closing hymn, "Only Trust Him" ( #475), followed by the Choral Benediction by the Choir and the Postlude, sending us into the week with hearts focused on Christ.

Today's flowers were lovingly presented by Tom and Jenè Simmons in celebration of Tom's birthday. Happy Birthday, Tom!

We also continue to lift in prayer those on our church prayer list: Wayne and Laura Oakley, the family of Nancy Tackett, Pat Weaver, Danielle Ferrell, Sara Robbinson, Scott Wolfe, Ben Carter, Lee Pittard, and Bonnie Lively.

May we all remember the beautiful truth from Ephesians 4:5–6:

"One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."
