Community Methodist Church
📅 June 14, 2026 | ⏰ 11:00 AM
Today’s worship service at Community Methodist Church was a meaningful and encouraging time of worship centered on faith, trust, and obedience to God. As we gathered together, we were reminded that even when life feels uncertain, God calls us to walk by faith and trust in His direction.
We began with the Chiming of the Hour and the Bringing of the Light of Christ, symbolizing Christ’s presence among us. The Prelude prepared our hearts for worship, followed by a warm Welcome and Invocation.
🎶 The congregation opened worship with the beloved hymn, “’Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus” ( #570), reminding us of the peace and comfort found in trusting God completely.
The morning continued with Announcements, Joys and Concerns, the Pastoral Prayer, and The Lord’s Prayer, as we lifted one another in faith and prayer.
📖 Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 5:1–10 (read by Keith)
This scripture reminded us to remain courageous and faithful, trusting in God’s eternal promises as we walk by faith and not by sight.
👧 Children’s Time (Ingrid):
A special reminder that children are a valued and important part of the church family, growing in faith through worship, prayer, and God’s Word.
💝 Offering & Offertory
The congregation worshiped through giving and thanksgiving, followed by the Doxology, praising God for His continued blessings and faithfulness.
🎶 Special Music: Jenè blessed the congregation through special music, creating a spirit of worship and reflection.
📖 Sermon: “Faith?”
Scripture Focus: Proverbs 3:1–6
Pastor Kevin Morris delivered a thoughtful and encouraging message about what true faith looks like in everyday life. We were reminded to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding, even when we cannot see the full picture. Faith means surrendering our plans to God, trusting His wisdom, and believing He will guide our paths.
The message encouraged us to trust God in uncertain seasons, rely on His promises, and walk faithfully knowing He is always leading us.
🎶 We closed worship with the hymn “Trust and Obey” ( #509), reminding us that true peace and blessing come through trusting God and following His will.
The service concluded with the Choral Benediction and Postlude, sending us out strengthened in faith and encouraged to trust God more deeply.
