Community Methodist Church – Sunday Worship Service

📅 May 24, 2026 | ⏰ 11:00 AM

Today’s worship service at Community
Methodist Church was a meaningful and spirit-filled gathering as we came together to worship, honor those who served our nation, and celebrate the power of the Holy Spirit on this Day of Pentecost.

We began with the Chiming of the Hour and the Bringing of the Light of Christ, symbolizing Christ’s presence among us. The Prelude prepared our hearts for worship, followed by a warm Welcome and Invocation.

🇺🇸 The congregation opened worship with the hymn “America the Beautiful” ( #702), offering gratitude for our nation while remembering those who faithfully served and sacrificed.

The morning continued with Announcements, Joys and Concerns, the Pastoral Prayer, and The Lord’s Prayer, as we lifted one another in prayer and thanksgiving.

This powerful scripture reminded us of God’s promise to pour out His Spirit upon all people—young and old, sons and daughters—bringing hope, guidance, and renewal.

🎶 Special Music (Choir) blessed the congregation with a beautiful time of worship.

📖 Sermon: “Come Holy Spirit”
Scripture Focus: John 14:16–17
Pastor Kevin Morris delivered an encouraging message about the promise of the Holy Spirit—the Comforter and Advocate sent by God to guide, strengthen, and remain with us. On this Pentecost Sunday, we were reminded that God’s Spirit still moves in our lives today, offering wisdom, peace, and direction.

🍞 Holy Communion / Receiving the Eucharist

The congregation gathered together in remembrance of Christ, sharing in Holy Communion as a sacred time of reflection, grace, and unity.

🎶 We closed with the hymn “On Pentecost They Gathered” ( #225), celebrating the coming of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the church.

Yesterday was a powerful reminder of what it truly means to be the hands and feet of God. ❤️

A member of our community was in need of a ramp—something many of us may take for granted, but for them, it meant the difference between struggle and accessibility, between limitation and freedom. Without hesitation, our church family came together, giving their time, energy, and love to build something far greater than just wood and nails.

What was created today was more than a ramp it was a pathway of compassion, unity, and service. Every board placed and every screw driven reflected the heart of a community that cares deeply for one another.

This is what it looks like when faith is put into action. This is what it means to serve. And this is what makes our church family so special.

Grateful. Inspired. Blessed. 🙏
