Beyond The Walls

This Sunday we turn to the vision of Jesus Christ as “a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek” from the Epistle to the Hebrews. What does the order of Melchizedek have to do with Jesus, temple sacrifice, atonement, and salvation? How can the image of Jesus as high priest speak to people who no longer relate to temple sacrifice?

We go about our lives as if the “vessels” we have been given are unshakable, unbreakable, and without limits.
