The ‘Peace for Everyone’ room at the Peace Pavilion encourages the understanding of everyone’s basic needs to survive and thrive. So today, we celebrate global cultures and the importance of education and dialogue to achieve sustainable peace on this, the World Day for Cultural Diversity, observed annually by the UN on May 21.

We encourage you to celebrate by watching an international film, cooking a dish from a different culture, volunteering with an inclusive organization, or visiting a museum that highlights different cultures.

"We want the quality of these toilets in shared settings to be really high... We want people to feel safe. We want them to feel as though their privacy and their dignity is being respected and preserved."

Episode 2 of the Beyond Poverty Podcast is LIVE! Host Elene Cloete welcomes Anoop Jain and Anvesh Badamikar from Sanitation and Health Rights India to discuss the intersection of public health, social justice, and political prioritization.

In this episode, they challenge the "flush and forget" mentality and look at how high-quality sanitation serves as the foundation for education and economic equity.

The Peace Pavilion supports the well-being of children and families and recognizes the importance of family-oriented policies in impacting children’s futures. Today, we celebrate the UN’s “International Day of Families” with the theme of “Families, Inequalities and Child Wellbeing. " It will spotlight global disparities in essential services that help children thrive, foster dialogue, and shine a light on effective policies and solutions for sustainable development.

☀️How have you been shaped by the sacred story of Jesus and his love?

🕯️The sacred story is the unfolding drama of God’s reconciling work in the world. This story reveals God as the One who calls humanity into relationship and who seeks the well-being of all creation. This revelation, first made known in the books of the Hebrew Bible, continues in the New Testament with the coming of Jesus Christ, the incarnation of God. This library of books called the Bible roots the church in the sacred story and nurtures and informs Community of Christ’s faith, identity, and mission to the world.
