Like and follow Oasis: A Special Needs & Sensory Friendly Ministry of Bucyrus UMC!

We’re excited to introduce Oasis, a new sensory-friendly ministry of Bucyrus United Methodist Church created for individuals and families with autism, neurodivergence, sensory sensitivities, and differing abilities.

Oasis is more than a program—it’s our commitment to becoming a church where every person is welcomed, valued, and able to participate fully. Through sensory supports, trained volunteers, family gatherings, inclusive worship, and community partnerships, we hope to create a place of rest, and belonging.

Inspired by Isaiah 58:11, our prayer is that Oasis will be a place of refreshment for families and individuals who are tired, overwhelmed, or simply looking for a church where they can belong.

There is a place for you here. Welcome to Oasis.

We are excited to launch our Oasis: A Special Needs & Sensory Friendly Ministry of Bucyrus UMC with this event!

In partnership with Oasis, Bucyrus UMC's Special Needs & Sensory-Friendly Ministry, we'll be offering an All Abilities & Sensory-Friendly Trunk or Treat behind the church from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

This dedicated area will provide a welcoming, sensory-friendly trick-or-treat experience for children and families who may benefit from a quieter environment.

We're committed to making Spooktacular a fun and inclusive event for everyone, and we can't wait to share even more exciting additions in the weeks ahead!

Scarcity tells us, “There isn’t enough.” Gratitude helps us notice what God has already provided. In Stone Soup, a simple meal becomes a feast when everyone brings what they have. Today, we’re thankful for the people whose generosity—whether through time, encouragement, prayer, service, or a listening ear—has enriched our lives.
Who has shared something with you that may have seemed small but made a big difference?

Our Youth shared an important message for all of us yesterday based on the book Enemy Pie.
