When I was growing up, we didn't have running water. We got our drinking water from a shallow well. When the water first came out of that well, it was about 50 degrees. On a hot summer day it was luxurious and wonderful. If you were really thirsty, a sip wasn't enough. A drink wasn't enough. When you were really thirsty, you would gulp that cool water and it would refresh you so much.
When you are really thirsty for God's Word, it's the same way. A sip isn't enough. A drink isn't enough. You want more. You want to know what God wants to say to you. The spiritually thirsty people are the ones who make learning about Him their priority. They are the ones who show up on Sunday night, Wednesday night and come to Sunday School. How thirsty for God are you?
