Community Church at Cedar Springs is a Place where EVERYBODY is SOMEBODY! We believe that God is Good, all the time and that we love you and there is not a thing you can do about it. The Community Church at Cedar Springs is a church who welcomes all. At CC@CS, everybody is somebody. We believe Jesus loves you and desires a personal relationship with you. Our goal is to help everyone find and maint

ain that relationship. Do you ever find yourself giving up on "church" but not God? Make time to visit one of our services. We will do our best to provide a wonderful and refreshing worship service for you and your family. You are welcome to come as you are both physically and spiritually. We believe God is not concerned about what you wear to church and we shouldn't be either. We also believe that church is a hospital for sinners, not a country club for saints. Come as you are and God will meet you as you are, where you are. Since our beginning, we have seen Christ move in many ways. Most importantly, we are seeing people getting connected to God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Our church has such a sweet spirit where all of our church members are like family. Our desire as a church is to see people connect to Christ, deepen their relationship with the Lord and have a true desire to actively participate in the family of God here at Cedar Springs. We take great pride in the fact that God is moving in our church. Nothing would thrill us more than for you to join in our journey; together we are better!

Romans 5:19
Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.

Sin entered the world through one man, Adam. His one decision brought sin and death for every person who came after him. But the opportunity for everlasting life was brought back to the world by one other man, Jesus. His one decision to come to earth and die on the cross, brings light and life for every person who chooses to call on His name. We each are faced with a decision at some point in our lives; to die or to live. Just as Adam made his choice, and Jesus made his choice, we too have to make the decision on eternal life or eternal death.

James 1:22
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

We can't treat scripture like we're preparing for a gameshow. It's not about how many verses we are able to memorize and correctly address. Whether you know 2 scriptures, 20, or 200, it's about how they change your heart. What are DOING about the scriptures that you know. Are you following them? Or allowing them to sit in your brain without heeding what they say? Even if we are able to memorize the entire bible, it's about how the scriptures bring about sanctification and relationship with Jesus. Don't be a Pharisee, using your knowledge of scripture to uphold some sort of status. DO WHAT IT SAYS!

John 15:2
He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

Pruning can be painful. Sometimes its cutting off people that bring out the worst in us. Or stopping a habit that our flesh enjoys. But pruning is always worth it. We don't always have to speak or act boldly to let the world know we are believers. It should be evident by our fruit. By the love, peace, joy, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and self control we bring to situations that don't always call us to show these fruits. And when we do show these characteristics, God grows them and allows us to use them even more to bring glory to His name.

John 11:14-15
So then he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”

Though Mary and Martha had prayed and called on Jesus, he did not answer right away. Sometimes our prayers feel like the go unanswered when really the answer is just delayed. God is on his own time. Sometimes a delayed answer is for our benefit. So that we may have a deeper belief and faith of Gods workings.

Revelation 3:15-16
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

Lukewarm water has little to no benefits. Cold water is refreshing and hydrating. Hot water is healing. As believers in Christ we are the same; we are not useful as lukewarm. Salvation and belief does not have a gray area. It is black and white as it can get. Saved or not saved. Belief or no belief. Walking the line is not holy and does not lead to heaven. The church does not grow by having lukewarm bodies in seats. It grows by having people with Holy fire burning in their hearts that want to expand the Kingdom of Heaven. If you are lukewarm, today is as good as any to quit toeing that line and let God use you!

Jeremiah 32:27
“I am the Lord, the God of all the peoples of the world. Is anything too hard for me?

One thing about our God, he's still in the business of miracles. We have seen chains broken, prisoners freed, and the sick and broken made well. And we will continue to see these things. God makes the impossible, possible. He makes a way when there is no way. He takes our brokenness, hurting, sickness, and sadness, and turns it for good.

James 4:2-3
You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure.

We know that we can go straight to God with our petitions and he will give us what we ask-when our wants are aligned with his will. Before asking for what we need and want we have to make sure our hearts and motives are in the right place. Asking God for things out of vengeance and jealousy will get us nowhere. But also, while God knows our hearts and minds, he wants us to earnestly ask him before he gives. God WANTS us to ask for things. He wants us to seek him for all our needs and desires.
