Our church is well over one-hundred years old. Down through the years we have outgrown three new buildings. Many of our members are lifelong members and descendants to the early settlers. We are located just five mile from the famous Forkland Community Center. Back in the late 1800s and early 1900s our church served as the building for three denominations. it has been said that on Sunday mornings

were the Baptist family -Sunday night for the Methodist and Wednesday nights belonged to the Church of God. We sit in a beautiful Peaceful valley and there is no place on earth more serene than this area during an early morning sunrise. Come visit us on the "FORK."

There is something special about a group of ladies coming together to worship and fellowship in the presence of our Lord.
Pleasant Run Baptist Church in Boyle County did just that last Saturday, May 9th. Lisa Green and Rebekah Sharp, along with other ladies of our church, did a wonderful job putting our 3rd Ladies Conference together. To name a few of the other hard workers, we thank you, April Crutchfield, Judy King, Brenda Chadwell,
Stephanie Preston, Tammy Williams, and those who brought food.
Everything was so well planned. The music presented by Sherri Cloyd, Georgetta Chadwell, and Donna Chadwell was inspirational. The speakers, Lana Carpenter and Hannah Chaney, were so inspiring. If you get the opportunity to go somewhere and hear either of those ladies speak, please go. You will truly be blessed. Ladies of other churches, if you are looking for speakers for your ladies' groups, please keep these two ladies in mind.
Door prizes and a special game were included along with a great breakfast and lunch prepared by the ladies of our church.
The most important guest there was our Lord's presence. I truly was inspired and so glad I was able to attend.
Thank you, Church Sisters, for a special day. For the ladies of other churches, thank you for coming to worship with us. You were a blessing.
Mary Frances King.

What a powerful and unforgettable day! We are beyond thankful for our guest speakers, Lana Carpenter and Hannah Chaney, who poured into us with love, truth, and encouragement. Your words reminded us of our worth, purpose, and identity in Christ.

Thank you to every woman who attended, served, prayed, decorated, cooked, greeted, and supported this conference. Because of you, lives were touched and God was glorified.

We are thankful for the fellowship, laughter, tears, healing, and worship we experienced together. God truly met us here.

A faithful sister, Shirley Gordon, who attended our church, has been handed the deed to her final and forever home...I want to believe it was hand-delivered by Jesus Himself, and I can just imagine the beautiful smile that surely was on her face when she looked upon His face. Just think of the smile Jesus returned to Shirley.
We at Pleasant Run have been blessed by the faithful attendance of Shirley and her husband for 69 years. This is a perfect example of the faithfulness Shirley had for those she loved...
Many of our congregation have grown up with or have known Shirley for our lifetime. We have all enjoyed her friendship and loved her sense of humor, which she shared freely with us all.
The beautiful smile she always wore. If Shirley had worries or concerns, no one would ever know because she always greeted us with that smile she was known for.
My lifelong friendship dates back to first grade in school. We were neighbors. her family and mine. We walked to school together, played together, and built wonderful memories growing up on the K**b. We ran in the same teenage crowd, became "K**b sisters," and shared the same birthday month. She was born on December 14, 1940, and I on December 13, 1941. So, I suppose, that is why we were lifelong friends, we had a lot in common.
Shireley loved life and spread joy to everyone she met. You could not get away from her without having a conversation spilling over with laughter and wiping tears of happiness as she shared a story before walking away.
Will I miss her? You bet I will! But I will never say goodbye. It's "See you later, K**b Sister, wait for me on the other side. For I will be coming soon.

69 years f marriage. What a blessing.
