Brownsburg Inclusive Catholic Community

Brownsburg Inclusive Catholic Community Established in 2014. We are about full human equality, shared leadership, and all sacraments for all people. All are welcome!

Here we practice all sacraments for all people. Humans of all genders and sexual orientations (LBGTQ+), races, ethnicities, marital statuses, ages, abilities, neurodiversities, and spiritualities are welcome and valued. Coming together, our celebration of God's loving presence among us is more complete! Our community is served by two co-pastors who are ordained Roman Catholic Women Priests (RCWP). Dear friends and wanderers– BICC is a prayerful, inclusive Catholic community striving to care for one another and our neighbors. We take seriously Jesus' call to feed the hungry, welcome the stranger, heal the sick, and stand with the outcast.

If you're seeking a justice-aligned and spiritually connected space to reflect and belong, reach out to our co-pastors and welcoming team at [email protected].

All are welcome at the communion table, and sacraments are available upon request. We gather in person and on Zoom on the 2nd & 5th Sundays of each month.

"Priesthood isn't a gender. It is a vocation. It is how we provide care for one another and create a sense of pastoral safety and theological reflection and growth and community."

Rev. Angela Nevitt Meyer of Roman Catholic Womenpriests-USA joined other advocates for women's ordination in Rome, where they prayed near the site of synod on synodality.

“Eucharist of Equals” unites Catholic organizations in response to U.S. Bishops’ ‘revival’

A “Eucharist of Equals: Liturgy of Love” hosted by Roman Catholic Womenpriests - USA (RCWP), on July 21, 2024, 11am EDT in Indianapolis, is co-sponsored by Catholic Women's Ordination - UK, Catholics for Choice, Dignity USA, FutureChurch, Mary’s Pence, Root & Branch, WATER (Women's Alliance for Theology, Ethics, and Ritual), Women-Church Convergence, Women's Ordination Conference, and Women's Ordination Worldwide as a collaborative response to the US Bishops’ “revival.”

The organizations are united in their theology that Eucharist is a sacrament of love, not a weapon of exclusion.

“Eucharist of Equals: Liturgy of Love” is grounded in the Vatican II theology of communion and the Council’s call to respond to the signs of the times. “Eucharist of Equals” joyfully welcomes people of all genders, sexualities, and marital statuses, and all ecumenical friends to the communion table. Women and people of all genders celebrate Mass as qualified, ordained priests, by virtue of the one sacrament of baptism, bringing the fullness of our gifts.

Reflecting that “Christ is always present in his Church, especially in her liturgical celebrations,” (The Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, Sacrosanctum Concilium), the “Eucharist of Equals: Liturgy of Love” will provide a stark theological contrast to the US Bishops’ Mass. Christ doesn’t “arrive” but is ever present in the People of God, the Word, the priests, and in the Eucharist prayed together. The Eucharistic Congress is advertising the moment when Jesus “arrives” at Lucas Oil Stadium, as the “ Real Presence” in a massive golden monstrance, in a theatrical act of objectification.

Happy Easter from BICC! 💖

“The Good News [of resurrection] is that we can orient to Love, just like Jesus did, like Mary Magdalene did, even when we are in the most difficult situations. There we will find God, pointing us to ways of new life - often in ways we never would have imagined.” ~ from Angela’s homily

May we continue living into the gift of resurrection, orienting to Love and care of one another in community!

Delayed post, but still a timely message! Here is Nancy's homily from August 13.

Our readings ask us to reflect: What kind of stories do I tell myself? Are they really true or just empty voices inside that tear me down?

Angela's homily from yesterday. How do we recognize and pull "weedy" ideas from our minds and collective consciousness so that we can create space for greater wisdom and goodness to thrive?

How do we discern truth when seeds of misinformation surround us?

Nancy's homily for today!

Angela's homily today. "When we take time to listen to the voices and stories and experiences of groups beyond our own, we can discover more facets of Christ’s incredible presence, body and blood, among us. If we all see heroes in every color of the human rainbow, we will begin to see God that way, too."

If we all see heroes in every color of the human rainbow, we will begin to see God in that way, too.
