Come join us this Sunday for a joyful time of worship! Pastor Kim is on Sabbatical the month of June and we are excited to welcome Rev. Bob Phelps as our guest preacher.

Rev. Phelps currently serves as the Executive Presbyter for the North Alabama Presbytery. Prior to that, he served as pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Albertville and has served congregations in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Florida through the years.

Bruce and Melinda married in Southern California in 1998 and called the West Coast home for 30 years before moving to Huntsville in 2012 to care for her parents. They've been part of our Big Cove family ever since! They are the proud parents of three daughters and two granddaughters, and are grateful their middle daughter lives close by.
In retirement, Bruce keeps busy with woodworking, gardening, and cooking, while Melinda enjoys crafts, thrifting, and refinishing furniture.
These two are the definition of servant hearts. Bruce has served as Elder, Facilities Manager, and leads our Personnel and Security teams. Melinda has served as Deacon, contributes to the Worship team, and serves as our Bookkeeping Liaison. Both are deeply involved in Missions & Outreach, and Melinda jokes that her superpower is volunteering Bruce — but the truth is, they both just love serving others. 🙌
We are so blessed to have them at Big Cove!

Last week, members of our community were honored to have the chance to visit the Kids to Love center and deliver stuffed animals we had collected during Lent. Kids to Love is a wonderful resource in our community for foster children and families. They offer placement services, as well as services for children aging out of the foster care system. We understand the confusion and fear that comes with life transitions for these children, and we know the comfort that a special friend brings.

We know these stuffed animals will find their new best friend and bring them comfort in the next part of their journey!

Today is World Environment Day. We believe that God calls us to be good stewards of all things including the environment. And we all know water is an essential part of that.

Did you know that a bucket under your shower as it is warming up could save 2 or more gallons a shower? Pastor Kim does this every day and then uses the water for her beautiful garden! This saves water overall, but could be critical to water conservation and the health of your plants in drought conditions.

What can you do to be a good steward of the environment today?
