Saint Constantine the Great and Saint Helen are celebrated together in the Greek Orthodox Church on May 21.

Saint Constantine is honored for legalizing Christianity through the Edict of Milan in 313 AD and helping establish Christianity throughout the Roman Empire. Saint Helen is especially revered for her pilgrimage to the Holy Land and the tradition that she discovered the True Cross of Christ in Jerusalem.

Together, they are known as the “Equal-to-the-Apostles” saints because of their major role in spreading and strengthening the Christian faith. Χρόνια πολλά to those who celebrate today 🙏🏼

Saint George was a Roman soldier who lived in the early 4th century. During the persecutions under Emperor Diocletian, he openly declared his faith in Christ, refused to renounce it, and was tortured and executed for it. Because of his unwavering faith, he is honored as one of the Great Martyrs of the Church.April 23 — We honor Saint George the Great Martyr, a brave soldier who chose faith in Christ over fear. Through suffering and sacrifice, he remained steadfast, becoming a powerful witness of courage, strength, and unwavering belief.

Today we celebrate his martyrdom and his victory over evil — a reminder that true faith stands firm, no matter the trials.
